Allure Sample Society August 2014 Spoilers

The second spoiler for the September Sample Society box is out!

Sample Society September 2014 Sneak Peek #2

Each box will include a set of 3 Tarte Brazilliance Face Self Tanning Towelettes (Value $9). What do you think of this spoiler? I've tried these towelettes before and I like them so I'm happy to have more, but I am really surprised to see a skin-tone specific item in a box that isn't doing customization yet!

MUT is saying the same. I think this is great – very highly rated. And I use primer most days of the week.

Some on MUT are saying that their dashboards have updated (mine has not) and that the other 2 items are (spoiler alert)
a hair cream and a perfume…

I think the eye cream makes the box more than worth it, and I am happy with the other 4 items as well, since I use all of those things. I see a lot of people complaining that it’s a bad box but I don’t really understand why…

They are a hair cream and a perfume; my dashboard updated today and I have a tracking number.

I think people are concerned that Sample Society is turning back into what it was before the revamp. The hair cream is from Alterna, a brand that showed up A LOT previously with Sample Society. Then there’s the eye cream, which reminds some people of all the creams/moisturizers from the past. Plus, there’s not really a makeup item this time, or a nail polish — each of the last two boxes had a lip color and a polish.

I’m OK with the box although not as excited as I was for the previous two months. I won’t use the tan towels. I’ll try everything else. I need to find a good primer so I’m happy about that. But I don’t want more boxes full of moisturizers and perfume. If that happens too many more times, I’ll probably cancel.

I just sign up for this to go along with my Ipsy subscription πŸ™‚

Not thrilled with them as I don’t tan or bronze my face (light skinned ginger here), but I might use them to give my legs a little color. Living in the desert southwest we pretty much go bare legged year ’round, so I’ll try to make use of them. The Restorsea eye cream hooked me into subscribing, and I’m still very excited about this box.

I was really close to subscribing until I saw this spoiler. No interest at all in any kind of tanning or self-tanning products, and I don’t have friends who are into that either, so these would just go to waste (I haven’t gotten on board with swapping yet).

This Spoiler Sucks! I’m so disappointed! I hope the other products are good and they didn’t cop out because they put one good product in!

I signed up when I saw the first spoiler, but now I’m already thinking of canceling. I don’t use self tanner, but I could’ve gotten over it if it wasn’t September! What’s wrong with them. I live in FL, and even though it doesn’t get cold in the Fall, we still get excited about new Autumn colors. I don’t know anyone who would be using self tanner now. Especially on their face. They haven’t charged me yet so I might see if I can cancel before it ships, since I was on the fence about this one. I cancelled Ipsy to join and I may try to get back with Ipsy.

Hi Vanessa! So funny we post at the same time!
I just cancelled IPSY also for this sub. and even though this tart spoiler sucks, the cream value is WAY better than anything on IPSY! πŸ™‚

I don’t self tan or any kind of tan. I’m happy with my natural skin tone but I know someone who would love these, hoping she will because it’s not summer anymore. The first spoiler was good enough for me to sign up even though I am too young for an eye cream. I can still start young and also use it for dry parts of my body and I do get bags under my eyes on occasion. I hope the next spoiler is awesome! πŸ™‚ I’m exited for my first Allure box!

I do tan year round (not self tan though…gasp**) so I really have no use for these, but the eye cream value alone is making me happy for my $15 investment. I cancelled Glossybox for this one & so far I am pleased. Not a fan of the spoilers for GB or the last few GB really.

I am actually glad the spoilers this month for aren’t for me. I need to cut back on spending so I am going to pass on this box and save my money for another month. Plus, I have Liz’s box coming in Sept…..can’t wait!!!

I am very naturally tanned and not looking forward to the self tanning wipes. I am biracial, so I guess I will have to swap. This will be my third box and this will be my first let down from them.

I am so exited to get these , I used these and I love it . I was already out , so yay!

This is the first FAIL for me since they switched to the new format. I don’t use self-tanner at all, so these would have been much easier to swap in April or May rather than September. I’ll give them this one, especially since it’s a great brand. Hope the rest of the box makes up for it.

Same, I have no use for them and don’t really know anyone in my life who would use them either, still, I will just try to give them away. I am too lazy to deal with swaps but maybe….

Overall though, this is the first product I haven’t wanted to try some Sample Society so I am still a fan of the subscription.

I don’t do tanning (sunless or otherwise). The look just doesn’t work for me. I’m perfectly happy with the natural color of my skin. Not excited about this spoiler. The eye cream from spoiler #1 still makes the box worth it, because I’ve found that expensive eye creams really do seem to be more effective. And there are still 3 items to go.

I use sunless tanner (Kiehl’s) all year long instead of foundation, so I’m happy to try a new kind. I heart this box.

Yuck… I subscribed when I saw the first spoiler, but this item is completely useless to me. I have a feeling this will be my first and last month with Allure’s box.

I use sunless tanner year round, like many out west, on the coast, in FL, etc. and I love Tarte’s self tanner. It goes on easily (gel and the wipes) and lasts for a week. I guess I don’t think sunless tanner = summer. I just go darker in the summer is the only difference. Now I was irritated by the “summer” them in the Social Bliss box (it was a stretch) since it allegedly included a beach bag (it was a tote), a straw visor, and a turquoise stone necklace. Pother than the hat the rest didn’t even fit but it was the theme that made zero sense right before Labor Day.

Sunless tanner in the September box? Um, not exactly relevant anymore!

Judi

I’m not excited about either spoiler, sadly. Everything has a great monetary value, but no personal value to me. I’m not sure how long I’ll stay subscribed to this box.

September will be my first Sample Society box and I’m a bit disappointed about this item. I don’t do any sort of tanning at all, so I won’t be able to use these. At least with makeup items that aren’t my color, I can try them to see if I like the formula. This is a total bust for me.

Amanda

Urgh, not feeling these sunless tanning wipes. I’m as fair as it gets, and sunless tanner is just a big ol’ no for me. These will go straight to the gift pile.
