UPDATE - There's a new Arianna Huffington box that launched today!

Quarterly has just introduced new curators for July, including Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger and Spy Kid Alexa Penavega! Let me know which ones you would like to see reviewed!

Also, use coupon code JUL5OFF to save $5 off any subscription! (Also try UJGQ10OFF FIRSTBOX10 and PIG5OFF)

Just received my Chef Ludo box and was disappointed. There was his custom designed pot holder which was nice. Then he had 2 jars of his spice blend (averages to $6.66 a jar ), a copy of a grilling book by Fisher Paykel (not sure of value as it appears more like a promotional piece) and a nice spatula also part of Fisher Paykel (picture of spatula in the grilling book). I was able to find the set of tools (five tool set for $134.00 plus an apron) so figure value about $26.00. Chef Ludo is a spokesperson for Fisher Paykel . I had signed up early before I even knew it was a grilling box so I was already thinking we are a little past grilling season but figured based on his creativity it should be a great first box. I am now going to cancel.

I just saw that there’s an Ariana Huffington Box that just launched for $50 as well… I’m definitely signing up for that one and can’t wait to get that one. ARI5OFF (which is supposed to be good through this Friday… i.e. tomorrow) and FIRSTBOX10 to get a total of $15 off. I can’t imagine her box will last too long.

For people that are doing a one time box and getting charged $8 shipping, why don’t you sign up for the box subscription, get charged no shipping, and then cancel after you get the first box (or keep it if you like it)… they don’t charge you until the box ships, so you have a few months in between boxes before you need to decide.

The price seems to have changed on the Ariana Huffington box. I subscribed as soon as I got the email yesterday and it was originally $50. It’s now showing $100. I wonder if the $50 was an error and what I’ll actually end up getting charged.

Interesting – I signed up for it at the $50 price too. I’m guessing we’ll be getting an email from Quarterly!

Katie

Can someone tell me how they used both codes to get the 15 off? Its not working for me 🙁

Thank you ladies, I was able to get $15 using JUL5OFF and FIRSTBOX10, but there is an $8 shipping charge? Did everyone get this as well?

I didn’t have to pay shipping (I ordered Liz’s box). But I signed up for a subscription instead of a one-time purchase.

That was it! Even though I know Liz’s box will be fabulous, wasn’t quite ready to commit to a sub:)

Totally excited to see what Liz puts in her box. We know no foil packets. lol. We all know what she loves and hates so, if we like what she likes then this box has to be a hit!

Ugh! I checked Quarterly and 1000 Places is no longer in the 4th spot for shipping soon. It was to be charged on 7/18. It has been delayed (again) and is now listed as shipping in August.

I saw this too and it’s making me nuts, especially because I got an email a couple of weeks ago saying that they were putting on the finishing touches and it would ship in July. Oh well, I guess I’d rather it be really good and take time. I just hope it doesn’t take as long as the Jordin Sparks box which was announced in December 2013 and has yet to ship.

I went ahead a got MSA Quarterly Box. I figured why wait. I have loved the My Subscription Addiction blog and all the advances it has made. Liz Cadman knows her readers and I believe she knows what makes a great subscription box. I hope time flies and September arrives before we know it.

I would love to see a review on Patti Stanger (The Millionaire Matchmaker)’s box!

How long till we get to see the unboxing of MSA’s Quarterly box? Late July?

Liz Cadman

The first box is currnetly scheduled to ship the first week of September, so it won’t be for a while!

Duh, Deb- it’s written quite clearly on the Quarterly site. Sorry, next time I’ll look before asking. I really want to try this but may have to give up PopSugar and Wantable.

Sarah

You can use FIRSTBOX10 and JULY5OFF on the same order for a total of $15 off, just enter one code after the other. I just did this and signed up for LIz’s box for $35!

I am interested to see what comes in Patti’s box…would love to get it but $100 is just not in the budget right now. I did get Amy Levin’s. I will totally admit I am not a college student but know tons that are so if its not something I can use I have no doubt I will be able to pass it on! Still most excited about yours though! 🙂

I just got Liz’s box for $35. I used code JUL5OFF and it said $5 off but my cc info was wrong so I had to re-enter everything and total still said 45 but I put code in for FIRSTBOX10 to see if it would work for the $10 off and instead it took off $15..since it doesn’t show what codes applied I am just assuming that it let them stack to equal $15 discount….I really dont know.

I must have been out of it, had no idea that Liz had her own subscription box and of course I immediately signed up. Can’t wait!

I’d love to see Amy Levin’s box reviewed. Never enough fashion!

I just subbed to Liz’s box with the code firstbox10 for $10 off. So excited!!

Jenny jenny

Whoa. I just used the code(all caps) and got $15 off of Liz’s box! I hope it’s good!

Reply ButtonReply

Blessedmommi

Which code did you use for 15 off?

Reply ButtonReply

Jenny jenny

I used the JUL5OFF one. I wonder if the amounts are totally random?

PA Anna

I’m going to go with the Quarterly Tech & Gadgets because the theme is 3D printing. I ordered the Patti Stanger’s box as a gift for my sister using the code. The theme is getting ready for the first date and is to ship October which I am reading as November 🙂

Laura

Hi Liz,

I just subscribed to your box using the coupon code. Looking forward to September!

Andrea

I’ve been thinking about subscribing to your box but I’ve noticed in a lot of reviews that the value of the items in the box are close to the cost of the box. Between shipping to Canada and the exchange rate I’d be looking at close to $90 for the box..do you know if the value of your box is going to be higher than that?

Anna

I’d love to see Chef Ludo & Patti Stanger’s boxes!

Reply ButtonReply

Sneaky Burrito

I’d say Chef Ludo, too. I’m not going to sign up right away because it says his first box will be filled with BBQ essentials (I’m a vegetarian). But it would be nice to see the contents over time. Because I that way I could get an idea of the types of items he includes, since I do like cooking/food prep.

The only Quarterly box I’ve ever signed up for is the MSA one. I’m often hesitant to jump the gun, especially on a higher-priced box, because I don’t feel like a lot of the celebrity curators “get” subscription boxes. I know that won’t be a problem with yours, though!
