Net-A-Porter Summer Kit Beauty Box Review
A few days ago I posted about the Net-A-Porter Limited Edition Summer Kit Beauty Box, and after doing the breakdown of the value of the items in the box, I had to buy one for myself! (UPDATE – this box has sold out this morning 🙁 You can add it to your wish list though to be notified if it gets restocked. I also emailed customer care to see if they know if there’s a chance it will be restocked. One a positive note, I did just find this natural beauty kit on their site as well!).
This is my first Net-A-Porter order, and I am seriously impressed with their packaging… so I took quite a few un-boxing photos!
All the beauty items came in reusable plastic zip bags lined in bubble wrap. I didn’t know this kind of packaging existed, but it is brilliant, and I will be reusing these for the next time I travel!
The Cost: $75 with free shipping
The Products: Over $200 worth of full size and deluxe site beauty products selected by Net-A-Porter editors.
This box came with a fold out card detailing each item included.
Hourglass Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss in Lush FULL SIZE! Value $28
Eyeko + Alexa Chung’s ‘Eye Do’ Liquid Eyeliner in waterproof Carbon Black FULL SIZE! Value $19
This Hourglass lipgloss is very shiny, and I think it has the right amount of micro-shimmer too (not sparkly). I also like that the applicator is a little flexible. It’s a tad sticky, but not at an annoying level that would keep me from using it.
Any item that has a Beauty Award on the label makes me pretty excited to try it – and this eyeliner definitely does what it claims. It’s a liquid marker, and I’d say you have about 10-15 seconds before it dries if you need to make any adjustments. After that it is super waterproof and smudge-proof!
Hampton Sun After Sun Daily Moisturizer (59ml/ 2fl.oz.) Value $8.50
Ren Skincare’s Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil (30ml/ 1.02fl.oz) Value $13
This Hampton Sun moisturizer is for after you’ve been in the sun to help prolong the life of your tan. I self-tan more than I outside-tan, but it works great as a regular moisturizer too!
I also love Ren’s natural beauty products, so this will be a nice addition to a bath, and I think a little goes a long way with this oil, so it should last for a few baths!
Kilian’s trio of eau de parfums (3 x 7.5ml/ 0.25 fl.oz.) Value $75
I’m a little weird when it comes to perfume in subscription boxes – if it’s a tiny sample size I pretty much hate it, but if it’s a perfume mini I think it’s the best thing ever (These ones are travel size minis). I really like that they included three very different perfumes with this box – that way it’s highly likely you’ll have at least one scent you love. I personally prefer ‘Liaisons Dangereuses, Typical Me’ and ‘Love, Don’t be Shy.’
Kahina Giving Beauty’s ‘Fez’ Body Serum (15ml/ 0.5fl.oz.) Value $7.50
Verso Day Cream FULL SIZE! Value $100
This body serum is a combination of oils with a great natural, earthy scent. And this Verso Day Cream is one of the reasons I had to buy this box. It’s a full-size skin cream worth more than the cost of the box alone, and it’s free of all the kinds of ingredients I like to avoid in skincare: parabens, phthalates, dyes, sulfates. etc. And it gets great reviews on Sephora too. If it works for me I think I’ll buy a few more of these boxes if they don’t sell out!
Rahua’s Shampoo & Conditioner Set (2 x 60ml/ 2fl.oz.) Value $14
SACHAJUAN’s Hair Repair (100ml/ 3.4fl.oz.) Value $12
Rahua is one of the all-natural luxe brands I really like, but cost so much that I rarely buy anything from them – so I’m always happy to get more in boxes! And I’m on what seems to be a never ending quest for an amazing hair conditioner mask, so we’ll see how this Sachajuan one stacks up!
Verdict: I think this is a phenomenal box to gift to yourself or someone else – the packaging is gorgeous, and all the items truly feel high-end and very curated. I spent $75 on this box and received about $275 worth of items. I love it and I’m already thinking about buying another one!
