Escape Monthly is a monthly vacation-in-a-box subscription. Each box comes with food, beauty items, and other souvenirs from a new destination. You also get a tourist book – so this box might help you plan your next actual vacation too!
FYI – They recently introduced a mini-version of their box for $24.95 that doesn’t include the guide book, and is only 4-5 items. This review is of the full box, but I may end up switching to the mini-version subscription since I don’t usually use the books. (If you got the mini version of the India box, please let us know what was in it!)

The Subscription Box: Escape Monthly
The Cost: $49.95 a month ($39.95 a month with coupon)
The Products: Each box is a destination-inspired monthly delivery of luxury products to help you relax, renew and escape.
Ships to: US only
Bonus Points: Each month, one lucky member will be selected at random to win a vacation to the current month’s theme destination. Escape Monthly will pay for the winner’s airfare from a major US hub and two nights of accommodations, up to $1000. (They announce the winners publicly on Facebook).

Each box comes with a fold out card detailing each item included in your box.

Maya Kashmiri Curry - Value $7.39
Saffron Road Tikka Masala - Value $4
Unfortunately my Kashmiri Curry opened slightly during shipping, so I had to throw it out after taking this picture. (I am relieved that it didn't spill on anything in the box though. I'll be following up with Escape Monthly to ask for a replacement or credit on my account).
This Korma Simmer Sauce looks delicious, but since it has dairy I'll be passing it along to my mom to try!

Banyan Botanicals Organic Healthy Hair Oil - 4 oz Value $12.95
Banyan Botanicals Peppermint Trial Soap - Trial Size Value $1?
One thing I really like about Escape Monthly is that they usually find some great organic or natural beauty products from their destination each month. I was expecting this hair oil to be another leave-in product, but it's a pre-shampoo treatment. You massage it into your scalp, then leave it in for 30 minutes before shampooing. I watched their instructional video, and it seems like a lengthy process, but if it works I guess it's worth it!

Organic Grass-Fed Ghee - Value $2.95
Masala Pop Chai Masala Popcorn - Value $4?
I really liked this popcorn (it's naturally gluten-free and vegan!) I think my batch might have been a little on the stale side, but that didn't stop me from eating the whole bag in one sitting!

Gouri Puja Bindi - Value $2
Amber Perfume Oil - Value $9
This perfume oil also came with a sample vial of the Sandlewood scent - I like both of them!

Moon Travel Guide - Value $14.99
(On the info sheet they list the price of this book as $19.99, but on the back of the book it's marked $14.99).
Verdict: I paid $40 for this box and received almost $60 worth of products. The value is pretty good, but I think it's time for me to switch to the mini-escape subscription instead. What did you think of the India Escape Monthly? And are you excited about next month's destination?
