Sample Society Relaunch & Complete July Spoilers

Allure and Beauty Bar are relaunching Sample Society, and if this first box is what we can consistently expect, I'm guessing this will become one of the most popular beauty subscriptions.  (Thanks for the heads up on this Jen!)

Here is exactly what everyone will get with the July Box. (No Kit A, B, C, etc.)

Sample Society Relaunch & Complete July Spoilers

Deluxe sized samples of:

Fekkai PrX Reparatives Intense Fortifying Masque

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris Aqua Universalis Eau de Toilette

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Bobby Dazzler, The Old Bill, and Champers

L'Oréal Paris Extraordinaire by Colour Riche Liquid Lipcolor

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlighter 01

Sample Society Relaunch & Complete July Spoilers! MagazineThe mini mag is back, subscribers get a $10 off $50 coupon to use at BeautyBar.com - no product restrictions, and boxes start shipping 7/12. What do you think of the changes and the July samples? I can't believe there's a Sample Society box without a skincare item in it!

Mine came a few days ago and is exactly as described, and I’m super happy with all 5 items! Lip gloss: pretty, perfume: not too heavy. polish: good fall color, hair mask: awesome, highlighter: subtle. Yay 🙂

Well, it seems like a good value. But, I don’t see this as an improvement. I really liked my old sample society and only had two crappy boxes in a year of quality deluxe sample’s. Mind you, SS isn’t as sexy as say Birchbox. Almost everything in sample society has been a serum, moisturizer or hair masque. But over the year, I have tried one stellar serum or moisturizer and have saved money in the long run. I don’t see this being all that great. The mini-mag has been a few pages of tidbits, not even geared towards any of the products you are receiving in that sub box. All, in all, I’ll keep this box-but the value doesn’t seem as awesome as a regular SS subscription. But yes, it is worth $15 a month. –I do have a follow up question, in the future will every box be exactly the same. Or just the same box, this month for every subscriber due to the launch?

Thanks everyone. I am very serious when it comes to my samples 🙂

This looks great even if there is a perfume sample. I signed up.

The marketing has a much slicker feel to it. This is now part of a huge corporation. Before getting too excited about his or that product, keep in mind Allure knows what they are doing and are not going to lose money. Like ALL beauty boxes, sometimes you will get a color or product you aren’t crazy about. The coupon is not a gift, it’s a way for them to sell online. Sort of the BB business model, but not nearly as “family” feel to it. ALSO NOTE: I looked over the “terms and conditions” (I’m weird, OK). When you sign up, you complete a short 6-question profile, once. Forever, that’s it, you cannot change it. So if you want the monthly fun of new cosmetics in the mail and a cute magazine, this alone could be worth 15 bucks. But this won’t be like the personalized email, flexible, online beauty emporium of, say, Birch Box. They are actually trying to build this to a Birch Box model, it seems, but in a more controlling, corporate manner. That’s all fine, I am not pro or con, just be aware, this will be quite different over time.

I cancelled because they started sneaking perfume samples into the boxes – a la Birchbox – and I really dislike perfume samples. Glad I did cancel, look – more perfume!
I can’t see that there’s any ‘improvement’ in this box, apart from the credit going from $15 to $10. So, improved from their point of view.

I’m so happy that they are relaunching. Last month was my first try with this box and it was awful. Keeping my fingers crossed this makes up for it!

So it’s confirmed that everyone is getting these? Because the article didn’t make it super positive. At least the one I read.
I know that they DID confirm that everyone would be getting the Laura Mercier Highlighter (that was from their CS rep).

On their Facebook page they confirmed everyone would be getting the exact same box. There may be slight variation in future months though. Hope that helps!

Are there any codes available towards the price? It’s already a great deal but, it doesn’t hurt to ask. 🙂

I was subscriber to Sample Society a while back but really wasn’t happy with what I was getting…So I canceled! Now, after seeing this box I was happy to sign back up and check it out for a bit to see if it holds up! I canceled Birchbox (again) because I really feel that it’s the one I seem to not care for in the subscription box world and I figured I could swap the $10 for Birchbox out for the $15 Sample Society 😉

I don’t subscribe to SS, but I got a bunch of the mystery boxes (which had a lot of repeats but it’s ok because most were good ones) and I found some products that were totally new to me that I absolutely love and am buying full sized now because of them. However, the samples were beyond small – some of them may as well have been foil packets. I will watch the first box and see how big, or small, the samples are and then probably go ahead and sign up for this one too.

I am ecstatic about the changes, I really loved the skin care items, but I got two of the 5 for $25 so I’m set for a while! Yay Sample Society, this is definitely one of my favorite boxes!

Son of a… I just cancelled my sub the other day because I was disappointed in what they were sending out. Guess they’ve pulled me back in…

This looks amazing. I’m going to sign up. Can’t wait.

For everyone that just ordered from their box sale did you get tons of the same thing? I ordered several different boxes but they ended up the same. My friends love me because I always throw extras their way plus I have two teenage daughters who share with me.
I really need to figure out the swap board.

Beeju

I got 8 of the exact same box. At least they’re letting me return 6 of them lol.

Sneaky Burrito

I only ordered 5 boxes. Of those, I only had one product repeat and no box repeats. But I got in on the sale very early (the first out of the three times it was posted) so maybe there was more variety available at the time.

I canceld last month, yet based on this box I’m thinking of resubscribing. The nail polish is one I’ve wanted to try.

Sneaky Burrito

I’ve been thinking about that too.

I was trying to decrease my number of boxes. And I got rid of this one because I was tired of Murad, philosophy, etc. But these are different brands and different items than I’m used to (well, I’ve gotten Butter London from them before, but I’d rather have 2 nailpolishes than 2 moisturizers). Maybe I’ll go home and look at my list and see what else I can cut instead.

If I sign up right now, will I still get this box??

I am super excited about this! I was actually gonna cancel because of all of the skin care samples but I will keep this one around for a bit longer!! Thanks!

Hopefully the box will stay this good and this is not an exception due to the relaunch! Fingers crossed. X

I wish you could decline the perfume. Other then that, it looks GREAT! I just got my old stash of 10 SS boxes from their sale.

I just hope I don’t get the “Old Bill” color because I already have it.

Angelica

Do we really get three nail polishes?

Reply ButtonReply

LizM

I think you get a choice of those colors.

Do u know when the beauty box is going to be mailed out?

Jessica

Saw this post and immediately re-enrolled in sample society. Not really sure why I cancelled before. For $15 the samples are pretty great, and some of my favorite samples have actually come from this box. I’m going to give it another try. I won’t be spending anymore money on Popsugar LE boxes anymore, so I might as well try this again.
Plus I need to vent a little bit, I just paid $45 bucks for the summerstash from Sephora…I received it in the mail today…talk about a ripoff (DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!) I’m sending it back tomorrow. I kind of like playing roulette with my sample boxes, and I’ve had a good experience on the swap website so it’s all good 😉

I loved the Summer Stash bag. My JCP Sephora had it for $20 last month.

Sneaky Burrito

I haven’t tried everything in mine yet but I’m happy with it, too. (I bought it in a standalone store and everything was in good shape.)

Erin

I think you may be my subscription twin, lol! We seem to share similar opinions about a variety of subs. And if I recall correctly, you’re also an attorney. Now if only I could have a local twin to send to my office in the morning….

Erin

I loved my summer stash bag! Were you missing products or were they damaged? I’ve had both happen but not with sephora. Pretty common on hautelook though.

Erin

I especially loved the magnificent metals since it alone costs over $30 (plus it’s in a color I didn’t have),

Glenda

Awww, Butter London the Old Bill was the polish I wore for my wedding last October! 😀 Great color, happy memories…

Not sure what will be so different. Someone please clarify. Thanks.

The used to send out 5 different versions per month (Kit A,B,C,D, and E.) The boxes may have one item that was common between the boxes and they sent out a lot of the same products. They also send a lot of skin care products. Personally, I liked the selection because I like skin care but some times the samples were small. These samples are hopefully substantial.
