Paper Pumpkin Subscription Box Review - June 2014 Info

Each month’s kit comes with an information card that lists everything included in the box and pictures for ideas. For June, Paper Pumpkin sent out “no-frills, manly cards” for Father’s Day (and the kit also included a “Happy Birthday” stamp, as well).

This June kit includes envelopes, stamps, acrylic stamping block (not pictured), ink pad, printed card bases and envelopes in two sizes, self-adhesive sticker, die-cut accents, baker’s twine, adhesive candy dots, and double-sided dimensional stickers. There are stamps for “Happy Father’s Day,” “Happy Birthday,” “Dad,” “Bro,” and “Son.”

Here’s how my cards turned out!

Paper Pumpkin Subscription Box Review - June 2014 Birthday

The Verdict: I really enjoyed this Paper Pumpkin box; I used to make a lot of cards and scrapbooking projects when I was younger and it was really fun having a “crafting getaway” that let me do that again. However, even if you’ve never done anything like this before I definitely think you could do this project, too. Just about every piece was self-adhesive, and easily mixed-and-matched. The stamps themselves were something I’ve never seen before: the stamps come on a sheet that you peel them off from and stick them to the acrylic block for use, and then put them back on the sheet for storage. I think this is really smart because you could gather a whole library of stamps from these boxes and they’ll never take up too much space!

The only thing I wish they would have done was show/suggest more styles for the cards; on the included informational card, they only showed one style for each size of card, and making the same exact card (save for maybe different sayings) might get a little boring; I did try to change it up a little on a couple of my own cards. I looked through Paper Pumpkin’s website at some previous months’ boxes and I think they usually allow a little more customization than this month’s might have.

What do you think of the cards for June’s Paper Pumpkin box? Have you tried a monthly crafting box before?

I think the value is in the instructions and project ideas rather than the actual materials. For me I could buy the paper on my own but I would have no idea with where to start to make my own greeting cards. I really like this box. I may subscribe to this.

This has to be the biggest rip off in subscription boxes. I am an avid paper crafter and I can assure you I know my prices. You’re looking at $2 for paper and envelopes and maybe a $4 value for the tiny stamp set. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I don’t do paper crafts, but I know beads and (loom) knitting. That feeling of getting ripped off is what’s kept me from subscribing to any jewelry-making or yarn-stash-building boxes. So I can totally believe it crosses over into other crafts.

This kit looks amazing and something that I would enjoy doing. I’ll have to look for more reviews of past months. I’m looking for a creative kit that has excellent instructions.

(Sorry! I meant to type more than that but I’m on my phone so it posted for me and I accidentally messed up my name, haha).

I agree with you, and I definitely was impressed with this box. It included everything I needed and step-by-step instructions. I recommend it and look forward to more boxes, too! =]

I have been getting this since it started about 1.5 yes ago – and while all of the kits were ok….they must have did a ‘rethinking’ and tweaked the program in December. The kits have been amazing! I have yet to receive mine this month for some reason but I highly recommend this to anyone. They alternate between project and cards every other month. I do wish they would give alternate designs but the creative people on the net do a great job of posting theirs!
