New Birchbox Monthly Subscription Coupon

Use coupon code BBJETBLUE to get an extra 100 points ($10) to use in the Birchbox shop when you sign up for a monthly Birchbox ($10) or Birchbox Man ($20) subscription. You also get to review each item and get another 40-50 points per box, so it's a really great deal if you want to buy something in their shop anyway!

So far, my experience with birchbox has been great. They sent me a duplicate sample from the month before, which I didn’t mind at all since I received such a high number of products in that box. They emailed me, without me contacting them, and credited me 100 points! Awesome! WSo I caved and bought the mermaid box lol

I thought I’d share this – I used the code back in April or May for Kate Spade where we’d get a necklace with a new subscription – valued at $45. The necklace never came and I figured it was because I did a gift subscription (in my hedgehogs name. I just got an email from Birchbox giving me $20 store credit on my next purchase. Thought I’d share what happened for those similarly situated:

Dear Birchbox Customers,

Hello! I’m Rachel, the Social Media Director at Birchbox. I’m writing to welcome you to our community and also to apologize for a mistake on our end—and to tell you how I’m going to correct it.

If you’re receiving this, you joined (or gifted) Birchbox via a promotion we ran on our Facebook page to celebrate having 1 million Facebook fans. You used an offer code to receive a free Kate Spade Saturday Mirror Necklace with your purchase.

Unfortunately, due to a mistake at our warehouse, we do not have the necklaces to send anyone who participated in this promotion. This is not up to our standards of customer experience and we sincerely apologize.

To make it up to you, here is a code for $20 off any full-size product or gift subscription purchase on Birchbox.com: (code redacted)

Our number one goal is to ensure that you have a fantastic Birchbox experience, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.

All the best,

Rachel
Social Media Director, Birchbox

I’m actually quite pleased with this response. I would have swapped or gifted the necklace anyway so now I can buy something I really want and in the end it is like getting 2 boxes for free.

Birchbox’s customer service is excellent.
In January I bought a salt & pepper grinder. When I went to use it at the end of May it didn’t work. As it had been past 90 days since my purchase I didn’t think they’d accept a return.
Not only did BB overnight me a new S&P grinder, they gave me a $10 credit for my trouble!

If you cancel and sign up again, you might get duplicate samples. Just FYI. I know I see what new subscribers get when I check unboxing videos and a lot of them get products I received in past months. I don’t think it would be worth it to not get new products everytime…

But if you’re going to quit and rejoin, night as well use a friends refferal link so somebody gets more bonus points too! Then it’s be an even better deal.

Thanks for sharing Liz! Mathis may be what I need to get my fiancé his first men’s sub.

Liz, can I ask your opinion on ipsy vs bb? I know ipsy includes more full size options and such but which do you feel provides higher quality samples? I’m rally looking to try nicer stuff before I buy.

Hey Ashley….thought I would give you my 2 cents as I have subscribed to both. It really depends what you are more interested in, makeup or skincare. Birchbox sends more skincare items and smaller sample sizes, sometimes higher end brands but not always IMO. Ipsy sends you a nice makeup bag with every order, and most products are full size or deluxe travel size, no foil packets. Birchbox sends smaller samples, however, you can earn points for reviewing items that you can redeem for dollars off orders from the Birchbox shop. Ipsy also gives points for reviewing items, however it takes awhile to accumulate enough points to cash out. When you earn enough points on Ipsy you can redeem them for 1 of 3 different full size beauty items to be included in your next bag. If you go with Birchbox, use the code Liz posted (BBJETBLUE) to get 100 bonus points, which is equal to $10 off a purchase from the Birchbox store. I myself prefer Ipsy, but I am more interested in makeup than skincare. Hope this was helpful!

Great comment on comparing BB and Ipsy. I agree! It’s all about preference really imo.

In terms of higher quality samples, I think Birchbox is the way to go. Usually they don’t include drug-store brands unless it’s a bonus item. Hope that helps! 🙂

Yeah, plus I’ve never gotten toxic-smelling lipgloss or mascara from Birchbox. Ipsy, on the other hand…

Helen

Wow! Just did this and received the 100 points, plus 10 for the subscription. Thanks!

Do you think this would work if I canceled my current monthly subscription and signed up again? Suppose I could always try it.

Just thought of doing this…let me know if it works!

It worked. I didn’t even wait 2 minutes between canceling and signing up again and I used the same e-mail address.
