Golden Tote Surprise Items!

You can find the Surprise Item Tote ($99) in the Boutique section.

Here are all the details:

"Introducing our strictly surprise item tote! For $99 you will receive a tote containing 4-5 surprise items. The items are all surprise items not 'chosen' items from previous or current months. Items could range from dresses, tops, pants and accessories.

Help us style your tote by first choosing your size. We know many of you have ordered several totes in the past few months so in order to not receive duplicate items, please write in the COMMENTS section of the site the following: "I need all new surprise items" or "I will take any surprise items, new or from previous months, surprise me!" Please limit all other comments."

Are you getting a Surprise Item Tote? I'm thinking I may get two... and I'm asking for all new surprise items.

Can we return surprise totes?

What does it mean to request all new surprise items? I have ordered from them before, but just not getting what that means…stuff that hasn’t been revealed before or ???

I read it to mean if you’ve ordered a bunch of totes in the past, ask for ‘all new items’ so you don’t get duplicates. If you are like me and have only ordered once, and drooled over all the surprise items everyone else got, tell them to send whatever (I would be totally pleased to get many of the things that have been sent out in past totes). I figure the chances of getting repeats of the only 4 surprise items I ever got was pretty low, so I ordered 2 totes. Good luck!

Just guessing but I think if you don’t specify that you want all new items, then I think they’ll use clothes that that have given out in past totes.
If you say you want all new items, then these are ones that have never been spoiled or used in past totes.
I guess the confusion is that when you choose a monthly tote, you get items that have not been spoiled.

The shipping is fixed and I also ordered a surprise tote and asked for all new items.

Last month I was shorted 2 to 3 surprise items from my $149 tote. I had added on a dress and I think it may have confused the picker, but they are trying to rectify it.

Also, since I am relatively new to GT, are there issues with laundering the GT items? It seems like people complain about shrinking mostly. Please let me know if you have experienced this or if you have a work around. How do you launder your GT items to prevent shrinkage or damage? Thanks!

Hmm, I haven’t had any issues with shrinkage if I follow the directions, but a lot of the items are dry clean only, just FYI.

Do NOT put your GT items in the dryer. Ever. Don’t even let them touch the inside of the dryer. They will shrink upon contact.

I’ve had no issues washing any item on the cold handwash cycle, then hanging to dry, even clothes that say Dry Clean Only. Dryel is another popular option if you want to be more careful.

I got one. It sounds like these are going to be available all the time? If so, I like that because so many times I’ve referred people to GT after they’ve complimented one of my GT items, they try the first time, get discouraged by opening day sell outs and never try again. Fun tote!

Sarah from GT said it should be a flat $7.95 shipping fee and any difference will be refunded. There’s a problem with the site…

Interesting that it says that they won’t sell out of these totes. That’s why I got one. I also asked for all new surprise items.
