Golden Tote Review – June 2014

Golden Tote Review - June

I have been waiting for a while to get my Golden Tote this month - it turns out there was some mix up with my order that kept it from shipping. At first it looked like the red pants I had picked were out of stock, but I ended up receiving them, so I have no idea why my order didn't ship sooner. Oh well - I'm just happy to have my tote in my hands! (And the new tote design is so cute!)

If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. FYI – This is not a typical subscription, each month they release a new collection and you can decide whether or not you want to buy it.

Golden Tote Review - June 2014 Midi Dress

Puella Chevron Midi Dress - Value $88

Normally I prefer maxi dresses over midi dresses, but I absolutely love this print and I'm really glad I went for it - the cut is so flattering.

Golden Tote Review - June 2014 Front

Golden Tote Review - June 2014 Back

The back bow detail is great too.

Golden Tote Review - June 2014 Red Pants

Weekender Pants in Red - Value $40

These pants were my other item choice for this month. (I'm really proud of myself for breaking out of my maxi-comfort zone!) I think these pants look really chic, and even though they are a loose pant they still seem flattering, especially since you can wear them somewhat high-waisted.

Golden Tote Review - June 2014 Pants Red

I was debating between red and blue with these pants, and ended up going with red because I thought on the blue print it would be more noticeable if the print on each leg didn't match up - and I'm happy with my choice! I'll be pairing these with a black tank or tee!

Golden Tote Review - June 2014 Pants

Priddy by Puella Slouchy Pant - Value $40?

Golden Tote Review - June 2014 Priddy Pants

If you were one of the first 1500 Golden Tote orders you received these pants in either black or a black and white print. I'm happy with the basic black look. I haven't decided yet if these are the most flattering look for my body-type, but they are extremely comfortable!

Golden Tote Review - June 2014 Dress

Fantastic Fawn Dress - Value $42?

(Link goes to a similar dress from the same brand). I really like the color of this dress. The bottom is lined, but the top isn't so I'll need to wear a tank or layer underneath. It's also a few inches longer than I would prefer so I'm going to put it through the laundry in attempts to shrink it!

Golden Tote Review - June 2014 Blouse

ElisonElisonElison Top - Value $40?

Normally this style of top isn't for me, but I really like that this top is semi-sheer, it softens the look and I can layer it over a white or black tank and pair it with jeans.

Golden Tote Review - June 2014 Top

Porridge Top - Value $50?

They worked with Porridge in a previous Golden Tote, and I'm happy to see more Porridge items in Golden Totes! I love this top too. The color is vibrant and it's a great summer top.

Verdict: I think the June Golden Tote was a complete success for me! (Usually I have one or two items that I'm not sure about/may swap). So of course I'm already regretting not ordering two totes this month! Hopefully the new surprise item totes ship soon though! What did you get in your Golden Tote this month?

I just started getting Golden Tote because of your reviews! The outfits always look so cute. I just talked my friend into gettting it too. She got the new suprise tote. I haven’t gotten my credit for her order yet though. I hope it goes through when it ships?

I received the same midi dress, the fabulous fawn dress, the black slouchy pants, and the Porridge top. I also got the patterned slouchy pants in my $49 tote. I actually got more surprise items in my $49 tote than in my $149 tote. They shorted me about 2 items in my $149 tote, I think its because I added on the whisked away dress in rust. I also picked the Chevron midi dress and the Floral Shirt. I also got the Esley black sleeveless shirt in my $49 tote.

I love the Chevron Midi dress, but a little bummed that I did not get the opposing chevron pattern shown on the website (I think a few people got that – most got the one you have). I also really like the whisked away dress, the fabulous fawn dress (great for work and super comfy and love the pockets!), the Porridge Shirt (the blue is a bright blue and it fits on the bigger side – I could have worn a medium), the Road Trip Tee (got the medium because large sold out in minutes – but the medium actually fits just right), and the Esley shirt which can be worn for work under a jacket.

The Floral shirt is beautiful, but the arms were made for someone small or XS – I don’t know if it is a bad design or defect, but others have noted the arms ran on the small side. I gave it to my sister who wears a small and medium and even she felt the arms fit just right on her. But she got a lot of compliments on that shirt and I am sad it did not work for me fit wise.

I e-mailed GT about the missing surprise items and they said they would send me something – so we’ll see.

This was another win month for me! I get so many compliments from my GT clothes. Its a terrible addiction now!

Susan

I thought that this shirt was a little on the bigger size for me. Its super cute though!

I definitely agree it’s on the looser side – I’m generally a large but I feel like I’m swimming in this shirt. I love it though! It’s so flattering, especially for my “problem” area, my post-baby belly.

I think its a little on the bigger size and its definitely roomy, I love it – for me its a very flattering cut and very forgiving.

I think it runs true to size. It’s a loose fitting top in general though. Hope that helps!

I got that FF dress and I love it! I would have never even taken a second glance at it in a store, but I love it now that I have it. The same with the slouchy pants. That’s exactly what I hoped for from Golden Tote, and it didn’t disappoint! 🙂

You kill me with these wonderful Golden Tote reviews! After a lot of thought and consideration I have made it a point to hold off on Golden Tote until after my wedding in October. My fiance even gave me the ok, but I talked myself out of it! Until then I’ll just live vicariously through your reviews! They have such cute clothes!

This was my first Golden Tote, and I chose the white lace romper and the romantic floral tank for my items. The surprise items I received were the Priddy by Puella Slouchy Pant in black, the Fantastic Fawn green/white dress, ElisonElisonElison Top, and the Porridge Top in navy. Everything was a giant win for me for my 1st GT! The Porridge top is super comfortable and very flattering on my frame. I wore the Fantastic Fawn dress to a wedding shower this weekend and received a ton of compliments. The floral tank is so pretty and super fun to wear in the summer.
