Received my first Golden Tote bag today with 7 items! MADE IN USA tags on so many of them, and that is rare these days, so makes me happy! I chose the Puella La Boheme maxi dress and it is darling. I picked skinny jeans. They say size 9, but it has to be junior sizing as the zipper doesn’t even meet. I wear a size 1 at Chicos or a 7/8 or 9 in Missy/Women. All four tops fit extremely well, but just a little bit smaller and they wouldn’t have. I am 49 years old; 5’6″ and 156 pounds. I recently lost 13 lbs and am still losing so I think about 10 more pounds less and the arms in one of the shirts will be perfect. Very cute items. Probably not things I would have found and/or bought, but I already wore the shrug today. Can’t wait til the first Monday of next month to order again.

Love the white floral dress but I’m not sure if I really need another bag this month… I want to know what will be in the $49 bag.

Hmm…not impressed…June was a good month for me. I will prepare to buy certain items on the trading group instead.

Ugh, seeing these spoiler items kicked my butt in gear this afternoon to clean out my a bunch of old items in my closet to make room for the two totes I’ll most likely be buying next month 😛

I think July is going to be my GT month!! Ordering my first tote! I LOVE all the items I have, I just hope they arrive by July 24th since I will be on vacation.

Liz – do you have a room just for your closet? How many maxi dresses do you own?

I’m super excited about July, but I may wait to order until I receive my Surprise Tote. My closet is going to start overflowing!

I’m definitely not going to be able to skip July!

Love the ruffle dress! I have no idea how this subscription works, or if things can be returned. I never have good luck ordering clothes online–always have to return items; I will go back and look at your posts to get more info. Items are very cute.

It really isn’t a “subscription” in that you can place an order every month, you don’t have to say “Hey, I want to “skip”” in order for your card to not be charged. They release a new collection of clothing items monthly, and you choose from those.
There is a $49 tote (choose 1 item from a smaller selection, get a total of 2-3 items, so 1 chosen, 1-2 surprises, plus a cute canvas tote bag). There is also a $149 tote (choose 2 items from a larger selection, get a total of 5-7 items, so 2 chosen, 3-5 surprises depending on the value of the surprises).
Honestly, this is one thing that I just cannot part with. I started in February and I’ve loved almost everything they’ve sent me. You can return the entire tote if it just doesn’t work, but you can’t return individual items. However, you can swap/trade them on this site or through the golden tote trade facebook group.

How do you find their sizing to be? Or comparable to? I have given up on Stitch Fix because I feel like they don’t listen to anything about my sizing needs (broader shoulders, larger chest size but proportionately normal elsewhere). Golden Tote interests me but I’m not sure how their sizing compares to other brands.

It depends on the brand, but when you click on an individual item in the boutique, it usually states whether the item is true to size, runs small, etc, and it tells you the models stats and what size she is wearing (and there is a sizing guide too) so that you can make an informed decision.

I think they tend to run a bit small if you are a Large. I love their tops and jackets, but I am a size 14 in pants and the dresses and pants are often unflattering or too snug. I haven’t looked good in any of the dresses since February. Not their fault 🙂 Hope that helps!

They work with a few different brands, so it’s a little tough to say, but I find that their sizing is similar to ModCloth and Forever21. A lot of their dresses and tops are supposed to be loose-fitting too, so I think that helps!

I love that striped shirt.
