Beauty Box 5 Review & Free Box Coupon - June 2014 Nail Polish

Vita Bath Body Wash in Dreamy Pink Frosting - 2 oz Value $1.50

Nicka K Nail Color - FULL SIZE! Value $5

I was pleasantly surprised to see that this body wash is sulfate and paraben free. And it does smell just like cupcake icing!

Beauty Box 5 Review & Free Box Coupon - June 2014 Mascara

Glam Natural Mascara - Deluxe Size Value $14

I like Glam Natural makeup a lot, so this is going to be my travel mascara for vacation! (It's paraben-free, gluten-free, vegan, etc.)

Beauty Box 5 Review & Free Box Coupon - June 2014 Coconut

Organix Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner - Sample Packets Value $.50

Eslor Introductory Calming Kit Samples - Value $15

The dreaded foil packets! I suppose these are good for summer vacation season...

Verdict: This month's box has  a value of about $35. I paid $8.25 for this box (annual subscription) so I'm very happy with the value, and I think I'll use everything in the box. (Not sure if I can pull of the deep red nail polish though - that may get gifted/swapped).

What do you think of the June Beauty Box 5?

I know what you mean about the “wow” factor, its not really there but I feel like I have found some of my favorite products in BB5. I also really get a lot of use out of the items they send me. I fell in love with the GlamNaturals mascara, it is now my favorite. I love the cream from Eslor. The coconut shampoo smells divine and you can pick it up at your local drugstore. The moroccan hair mask is my favorite. My hair looked amazing after using it, I couldn’t believe the results. I got a good deal on my sub so I feel like overall the items are things that you are really going to use in your daily beauty routine.

Full size lip gloss spoiler for BB5 via Facebook for August. Nice!! 🙂

FYI.. It’s suppose to have vitamins and be non sticky which is a big plus. I’m hoping for the coral color.

I signed up for a july and didn’t realise there was a code for half off the first box. So far, I’m pleased and it’s a good value. Not the best in subscription boxes but really good.

For July I received the same red nail polish. I loved everything in my first July box so was pleased. I’m not sure about the nail polish either. I’m very pleased with the Argan oil hair mask and mascara though. Great subscription box and for me personally it beats Birchbox in value.

Does anyone know of any sneak peaks for their new Hollywood Limited Edition boxes? I really want an Audrey-Classic Hollywood, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to pay the $40. 🙂

I got the notice too and am interested. I would like both Hollywood boxes! Lol.. I don’t have enough info to take the plunge. I would like to know the value and or some of the brands or items featured.

Sneaky Burrito

I got an e-mail about those, too. Wish I knew what was in them. Would be inclined to go for it if it included stuff I didn’t have already (and none of that Secret Clinical Strength deodorant they’re known for — it gives me a rash!).

I was wondering the same thing …. for $39 – I can get another FabFitFun box – with $200+ value — unless there is a spoiler on this box I might skip it.

With a 3 month sub, it’s only $6/month!! And July knocked it out of the park for me! Full size Revlon mascara, full size Starlooks lip pencil in a great mauve shade, a yummy smelling body scrub sample, Body Drench cotton candy lip balm (very tasty, even to this 38 year old, lol), and a huge foil packet of Argan oil hair treatment. It’s a foil, yes, but it’s large enough for me to use it at least twice and I have waist length hair. So yeah, for $6 I hit the jackpot!

Glad to hear that the cotton candy balm is tasty, was just deciding whether or not to keep or swap it, loved the shade, was unsure about the flavor! I also got the foil pack Argan Oil masque, and was happy with it as well. I have very long hair, but this pack feels like enough to try at least twice. I also got the red polish which is going straight to the swap pile (don’t do reds, more of a purple girl), a deluxe travel size bottle of Bath Aquatics H2O Shampoo (smells delicious and has Aloe, Provitamin B, watercress, Iceland moss, and seaweed). My first impulse was to swap the shampoo as I have vivid fuschia hair and have to use specific color shampoo products, but it smells so yummy I may just save it until I get sick of coloring my hair 😉 The final product was a full size Revlon Bold Lacquer mascara as well as a $1 coupon for a friend. This box is definitely a win….you can’t beat the price! You would pay the price of this sub for just the mascara alone!

I got the exact items. I haven’t tried the Shampoo. I’m kinda satisfied with my brand and notice the original size is very expensive.

I do have thick long hair and I’ve used the hair mask once. Smells amazing!!! Looks like I can probably pull two more uses out of it. It made my hair super soft and manageable. I got the peppermint lip balm. It’s nice and slightly cooling. I think I also received a lip pencil? Can’t remember. . Lol

Thought this was the review for July’s box as it was just posted, so to clarify, my contents for were July’s box.

I was disappointed the shampoo was in foil packets. That being said..I loved it! And since my hair is short..I got about 3 or 4 uses out of them. I’ve gotten the Eslor system from Birchbox and liked it. So I was happy to get the cleanser again! The purple polish lasted 3 days before I changed it (i do my nails every few days) Haven’t tried the mascara or body wash (although it does smell yummy!)

Just keep your foil packets in your overnight bag or your gym bag – just in case you forget your shampoo. 😉

I tried the promo code with the 3 month subscription and it didn’t work. I was charged the full $30. I wouldn’t recommend trying it.

FAIL
I don’t use nail polish of any color, black mascara is too dark, my skin is too oily for most moisturizers, and the brush arrived bent. The mousse is worth a try.

If I get a new brush, I already asked, and like the mousse the box is paid for.

I would have loved a shower gel sample.

My nail polish bottle broke I transit and ruined nearly everything in the box. The nail polish spilled all over everything and then got baked on in the heat. However, BB5 responded to my email within a day and they are sending me replacement items of everything that was ruined. Great customer service!

Is it possible to just try out the free box then cancel? When would I have to cancel by in order to avoid getting charged?

Just got my box today. Agree there is no wow factor here. I love dark polish but this red is to orange. I got the Mascara, actually I’m happy to se that as I always am up for a new mascara. I am not sure about the Eslor products, they are new to me. I will have to see what’s in them before using as I’m on Retin A and being careful. I got the Sedonal blender brush and it’s worth the $8.95. I had just had my hair washed when I opened the box so I put the Design Essentials in a new cut of way to many layers and did certainly make it curly, this may have been a full purchase except the scent is to heavy for me. I think I cancelled my sub last month and have one more box to go. I find I am only liking 1 out of the 5 samples that I get in BB5 so another beauty box that is just not doing it for me.

I received an eye shadow brush in place of the shampoo foil so although I’m glad to not get lots of foils, my brush was pretty ruined after being stuffed into that box when it clearly didn’t fit.

Also got a mousse type product for curly hair. I don’t have curly hair but maybe itll make it curly?

cheryl

The mousse is a good one, it will certainly make your hair wavy if you scrunch it and let it dry natural or with a diffuser.

Kristi

I got this box too. I actually have wavy hair that I usually straighten, so I am interested in the curly hair product. The brush I got says eye shadow, but they called it blending and contour. Luckily my brush was in good shape.

I’m really happy with this box.

This is my second box, and i’m happy with the products and the value. I know I won’t wear the red nail polish, yet the bottle is pretty, so it will make a great gift.

Poppy

Interesting… I did not get the body wash in my box. In its place was a beautiful eyeshadow blending brush that I’m really happy with. I also received the dark red nail color and was hoping to get the blue. The red is too dark for this time of year, but I’ll save it for fall.

This was my first of a 3-month subscription. For the price, it’s a great value.

This was my second month of BB5. I have unsubbed. Neither of my boxes had any sort of wow factor for me and quite frankly, I feel the other two major beauty boxes in this price category are much better overall values.

Leighann

I was upset with this box. My body wash opened up and spilled all over everything. I’m hoping they send me a new box 🙁
