GlossyBox Limited Edition Mother's Day Box

The GlossyBox Limited Edition Mother's Day box arrived just in time - hopefully everyone who bought one has received their box by now! (FYI - this box is no longer available for purchase).

GlossyBox Limited Edition Mother's Day Box Review Redken

Pureology Fresh Approach Dry Condition - 1.3 oz Value $14

Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer - 5.7 oz Value $23

I like the Pureology brand a lot, so I'm excited to give this dry condition spray a try!

GlossyBox Limited Edition Mother's Day Box Review Lotion

Caldrea Body Lotion in Tea Olive Lime - Value $22

This is one of my favorite Caldrea scents, and the first time I've actually received a full-size Caldrea item in a subscription box! (Not only do the Caldrea products smell amazing in my opinion, but they are also vegan and free of parabens, phthalates, and artificial colors).

GlossyBox Limited Edition Mother's Day Box Review Mascara

ModelCo Fibre Lashxtend - Value $24

Belleapierre Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in Envy - Value $20

I like that Bellapierre uses natural ingredients, and this color works well with my skin tone - win!

GlossyBox Limited Edition Mother's Day Box Review Serum

Skin Inc Custom Blended Brightening Serum - 30 ml Value $130?

I'm not sure how to evaluate the value for this serum since it was custom blended for this box. (But I made the $130 estimate based on other serums they sell). I'm also not sure how to find out the ingredients for this item since it is custom blended - if you find them please let me know!

Verdict: I think this box was definitely worth the $40 I paid for it! I think it's a great mix of haircare, makeup and skincare products, and would also make a lovely Mother's Day gift.

Did you get this box? What did you think of it?

I’m new to boxes and did not realize I had to order this seperately. I wish I understood them better. They are all so complicated. Very tricky. I thought I was getting this and of course , never did.

I have not gotten my box yet, even though I ordered it in April. Apparently when I subscribed for an annual Glossybox subscription starting in April, the “system” mistakenly entered it as another April box instead of the Mother’s Day box. They say that they are sending one right away. If I don’t get it by early next week, then I am going to complain. I should be compensated for the error. Perhaps a free box…

They are violating the FTC by doing this. You are owed a refund, at least. I’ve filed a complaint already.

I was also disappointed that my mothers day gift (for my mother) did not arrive. There was a definite promise made to consumers saying it would arrive on time. This is such bad business practice, and a blatant disrespect for our dollar as well. As much as I LOVE this box, I will no longer be supporting them.

MY shipping info was entered on the 5th and a label has been created, that’s it! I think I’m over Glossybox.

I’m in the same boat. Very disappointed. I have emailed them twice and have not gotten a reply. I’m done with Glossybox.

I also feel this is a great deal and ordered two. One as part of a Mothers Day gift and one because I couldn’t resist. I too was really disappointed to not receive my boxes. Tracking still says that only a label has been created and customer service has yet to reply to my inquiries. I do not have an existing GlossyBox account – it sounds like they are simply growing too quickly and can’t keep up with demand.

I just received mine on Friday, but it wasn’t a Mother’s Day gift, so I am happy I received it, but I would have swapped delivery time with the ladies who needed it for Mother’s Day. With that said, I liked what I received and was very happy with the value. I wished I had purchased one for my mother-in-law because it was very nice, however, since I knew what the products were ahead of time, I knew two of the items she would not use and opted to get her the Blooming Birchbox instead, which arrived before Mother’s Day and she loved it. One other weird thing, when I opened the Glossybox it had this black powder stuff all over the box and the tissue and it was like dirt or something and it did disgust me. I realized that this was some kind of weird residue from the shredded black paper they use as packing. I must have gotten the bottom of the packing paper because that’s what the dust was. I rinsed everything off, but they should be a little more careful with packing material in the future. Otherwise, it was the most beautiful box and beautifully wrapped box I have seen so far.

I bought this the morning it was announced and was reassured by glossybox that it would arrive in time for mother’s day. I cancelled my monthly sub with them six months ago because of their incompetent shipping practices. The shipping has ALWAYS been a problem with them, it’s nothing new. So their excuses that it’s due to them changing warehouses is a load of crap. I feel they stole that excuse from Birch box. The reason a lot of us wont be getting the Mother’s day box on time is because they decided to ship two day air and either didn’t realize (I find this hard to believe) or didn’t care that they were prohibited to ship them via air because of the products included. I got shipping notice on the 7th, the day my box was suppose to BE HERE and then was told by their CS that due to an obstacle they were being sent back to the company and that they would then be reshipped via ground. I’m filing another complaint with the BBB and if my box isn’t here by the end of next week I’m disputing the charge with my bank. Never again will I order something from them, I don’t care how “great” the deal is. It’s not worth the lies.

They are violating FTC rules and owe you a refund! I’m so tired of being taken advantage of. http://www.business.ftc.gov/documents/alt051-selling-internet-prompt-delivery-rules

I also thought it was ridiculous that they blamed UPS for returning the packages. They’ve been selling long enough to know that aerosols can’t go by Air. I think they tried to pull one over on UPS and got caught.
I’m also still waiting for my box.

I got mine in time, but I had to leave the country before it arrives, so I won’t have mine in my hands until August…
I wished they’d just send them earlier, since they already revealed everything; nothing’s a surprise anymore so why wait until May 1st to start shipping?

Kristi

I won’t be getting mine until late next week either. 🙁

I ordered my Mother’s Day box over a month ago, and it’s still not here :(. There is something wrong with the tracking info, so I can’t even see where it is, but I know it shipped. Totally bummed since I thought it would for sure be here for Mother’s Day.

Still waiting for the Mother’s Day Box to arrive…

at the UPS facility.

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about all the effort you went through to make Mother’s Day so special for all the mothers in your life, only to be completely disappointed. I imagine, though, that everyone in your family already knows how sweet and generous you are…and will enjoy the gifts when they receive them.

I agree with Yana. I think your comments belong on their Facebook page.

I also ordered mine awhile ago, the day it was announced. My tracking finally worked yesterday and shows it won’t be delivered until late next week. It’s really troubling that glossybox promised it would arrive by Mother’s Day. The box was just for me, but I feel really terrible for everyone counting on it to arrive before today. I hope they do something to make up for it.

I ordered three of these boxes for Mothers Day gifts after being assured by Glossybox that they would be delivered in time for Mothers Day. My boxes are not expected until mid next week. Very disappointed and will not be renewing my subscriptions when they run out.

This will most likely be my Mother in laws last Mothers Day due to an aggressive brain tumor. I had purchased 3 matching gift cards (matched the box perfectly) and 4 rolls of 2 inch silk ribbon to make sure I could tie a beautiful matching bow on each package. Total waste of time. Of course flower orders were not a possibility because orders were not being taken after Glossybox waited until the very last minute to let me know they would not be delivering. The four grocery stores were out of flowers because the 2 local flower shops bought them out. Never again. Worst Mothers Day ever and it showed in my Moms, Mother in laws, and Aunts face.

I didn’t personally order one, but I am subscribed to them. After hearing about all these women that were counting on this box in time for Mother’s Day, I have cancelled the subscription. There is no worse business practice than not caring enough for your customers. To me, it is a major slap in the face to everyone that ordered on these boxes and, by extension, the rest of their customers

Yana

Wow, Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom-In-Law and the major screw up by Glossybox. It just makes me so mad that they simply do not care whether their customers get boxes on time! They simply do not realize that their tardiness has an effect whether because someone was waiting for a box to be delivered before they moved or whether because this may be the last Mother’s Day gift for someone and the box is sent out late! I really hope that this Mother’s Day nevertheless turns out to be a joyous occasion for you and your family. I would post your comment on their Facebook page, they need to understand how screwed up their business practices are. All the best to you, and Happy Mother’s Day to everyone!!

I just wish mine would come already. It would have been nice to have on Mothers Day but , oh well….

This box is a fantastic value, all higher-end stuff and full-size, too. Mine arrived Friday and I love everything in it. I’m glad I got off the fence early as to whether to order it or not & was able to nab one.

Janine

I think all the products are full sized! And based on the card and product sizes, the serum is indeed the amount given on the card (I think it said 135?).

I’m new to Glossybox and I’m trying to figure out this whole shipping thing, although it sounds like this month was especially bad with them suddenly changing warehouses. All I can say is that I wish that I had received my April box sooner because once I tried the Caldrea tea olive lime shower gel included in the April box I would have pulled the trigger on the Mother’s Day box knowing that a full size product in that amazing scent was included. As it was, by the time I got my April box (May 8th), the Mother’s Day box was long gone. Looks lovely though.

There was a big Caldrea display at my local Target last week. Some of their stuff is also available on the Target website.

I haven’t received the box yet! The least they could have done was send out a heads-up e-mail to people that purchased to let them know it was going to be late. Really bad customer service. Their products are often better than birchbox, but I’ll always be loyal to BB because their customer service is top notch!!

Jenny

I ordered this one and because it’s a “Mother’s Day” box I assumed it would be delivered by Mother’s Day. Mine won’t be delivered until Tuesday and it’s not like I live in a remote area either. Oh well, the box still looks decent.

Catherine

I was supposed to have received this one for my mom & the tracking never updated. Glossybox said ups sent it back to them & they shipped it through USPS when I check the tracking # it tells me the box was DELIVERED in another state!!!! Major wtf!! I contacted their customer service again & have yet to hear back!

Jessica M.

Glossybox seems to have the worst customer service.

Reply ButtonReply

Caitlin

Yep. HORRIBLE customer service. I toy with the idea of getting rid of the box every month, but stick around for the product value.

Yana

Funny hiw they make sure that their higher valued boxes go out ASAP while we are still waiting for the April boxes to arrive. Bad customer service and poor choices = no more business from me.

And not even all of the limited edition boxes are timely either. I already got my May box (a first for me; I dropped them the second time after receiving a monthly box 7 weeks late). I only re-subbed due to the 3 months/$45 deal. I’ve never seen a company have such shipping issues that just never improve. That means to me they are either flamingly incompetent or just don’t care.

Reply ButtonReply

Saffy

I think maybe you got the April box because the May boxes haven’t shipped yet. The May boxes are the collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman and include a $25 gift certificate. If you got that one already I’m *really* jealous!

cheryl

Great box, this one I wish I got 🙁
