From The Lab Beauty Subscription Box Review – April 2014

From The Lab Beauty Subscription Box Review - April

From the Lab is a unique beauty subscription box - each month they send you a new beauty product that isn't on the market yet. The idea is that beauty companies heavily markup their products, so by getting the beauty product after it's created and tested in the lab, they can send you the products for much less than you would pay once they are branded in the upcoming months/years.

From the Lab kindly sent me this box to review.

From The Lab Beauty Subscription Box Review - April 2014 Treatment

From the Lab Micro Cellular Body Treatment No. 615 - Value $65 approx

From the Lab describes this lotion as "deceptively light" and I'd say that's a fair assessment. It's a light lotion that absorbs really well, and didn't leave my skin greasy. It's supposed to also improve the look of skin (wrinkles, sun spots, other aging signs). I can't speak to that since I've only tried it once so far - but it seems promising.

I was also happy to see that From the Lab products are never tested on animals and are always paraben-free!

Verdict: So far I'm intrigued by this subscription. It's still a little weird to be using non-branded beauty products, but I guess I need to get over that! I'm curious to see what the May box brings, and I like that everything is full size, and if a product works for you, you can buy more in the shop.

Have you tried From The Lab? What do you think of their beauty products? Notice any results?

Hi – Forgot to ad the code: PDTRIAL05 for 1st month Free. Think the code is valid till the end of the month. Found the coupon code on Plum District.

Last time you posted the sale at Rue La La, I picked up a sub for my mom and also their two kits. I kept the primers since my mom doesn’t wear makeup and have to say I absolutely love both their lid primer and face primer. My mom really likes this body treatment so that’s a win as well.

The AM/PM cleanser isn’t something I can get with though because I don’t like the thought of not using water to clean my face.

Completely unrelated, but Beauty Box 5 has a new limited edition box for $39.

I am up to ears in samples right now so I’m not going to order, but I was happy with their last one.

After trying many different beauty boxes and spending way to much for samples – I subscribe to BB5 as they are inexpensive and feed my beauty addiction. I’m going to pass on this one too as I just needed full size of products. It seems most of these boxes offer the same things . I like getting the box but if I need say a good foundation or lipstick then I’d rather my $20 go there.

If you already subscribe to BB5, then you probably already have most/all of the stuff in the limited edition box. When I got mine, nearly everything was something I’d seen in one of Liz’s BB5 reviews. That was cool since I don’t subscribe, but I probably wouldn’t want doubles.
