Birchbox Man is a monthly grooming and lifestyle subscription box for men. Their lifestyle items tend to be formal (think ties, cufflinks, etc), so keep that in mind when subscribing!

Birchbox Man Subscription Review - May 2014 Info

Each box comes with a card that details each item included in your box for that month.

Birchbox Man Subscription Review - May 2014 Shampoo

Davines Naturaltech Energizing Shampoo - 100 ml Value $10

Hanz de Fuko Claymation - .5 oz Value $4

This shampoo has a strong mint scent - I think that alone will wake you up, but it also lists caffeine as one of its ingredients!

Birchbox Man Subscription Review - May 2014 Cards

Bicycle Robocycle Deck of Cards - Value $4

Coola Environmental Repair Plus Radical Recovery After Sun Lotion - .5 oz Value $2.50

I have a feeling I'll be buying this Coola After Sun Lotion in full size this summer. It's made with organic ingredients (the primary ingredient is aloe), and it has a nice fresh scent.

Birchbox Man Subscription Review - May 2014 Pouch

Roosevelt Supply Canvas Zipper Pouch - $14

This pouch is simple and very well made - I would consider stealing it for myself, but I currently have about 100 makeup bags from various boxes, so I think I'm good for now!

Birchbox Man Subscription Review - May 2014 32

32 Oral Care Effervescent Breath Treatment - 4 packs Value $2

These pop rocks for adults are a bonus item (meaning they don't count as one of your 4-5 samples).

Verdict: We paid $20 for this box and received about $36 worth of products. I think the sizes of all the samples this month were great, but this just isn't a "wow," box for us. I'll review the products to get $5 back in Birchbox points, so I'm happy with the value though. (Birchbox points make be happy with just about any Birchbox box!)

What did you get in your May Birchbox Man box?

This is random as hell but I used to be member of birchbox but cancelled after the stuff they were sending was pretty meh. Anyways I’m looking through some of the old boxes I got and some of the ones after I cancelled my subscription but this one I had to comment on because I did not receive the pouch when I got this box (which is the most expensive item). Pretty strange right?

I feel badly for Birchbox man for all the harsh comments. Lately we have been lucky, it could be because I changed my significant other’s profile to prefer lifestyle items, we welcome socks, ties, headphones, tshirts, jumprope. The lifestyle items fulfill the box’s value. We like the cologne samples especially from English Laundry.

This box was the last box my bf is receiving from a gift subscription. He got the claymation, cards, coola sunscreen (pretty sure I’m gonna steal that), proraso shaving cream, PLANT face oil, breathe mints, and tie clip. He didn’t seem too thrilled with it. I kept telling him to go online and take the survey so it would be a little more catered to him but he didn’t so he ended up with a bunch of stuff he won’t use. I’ll probably just put it on here to swap.

Received a $38 plain white tshirt in ours?! The other month we got the $50 headphones. Grateful at least for the value of these lifestyle boxes =)

We got the same box. Not a great box. Tiny sample that we weren’t impressed with. Hopefully next month will be back to par.

Dean, my husband got his box and was pretty happy with it though I think he would of preferred the case yours got. He got a t-shirt instead. While nice it wasn’t unique! Loved the cards. And the breathe pop rocks were weird for him. But he throuh them into his pocket to take to work and keep in his desk when he needed them. The rest was OK and he got a sample of some $125’cologne that he would never spend that much on, but it great to try it out!!!
