Social Bliss Style Box Subscription Review – April 2014

I received the mustard yellow bag, the bag was much bigger than I expected for a crossbody, the color is pretty though not at all an ideal color for an accessory. Although I love navy I wouldnt wear it in this kind of bag, I wouldn’t prefer grey either as an accessory. If they wanted a stand-out accessory, a wearable shade of red bag would have been the way to go or a tan/cognac versatile color would have made sense. I am currently trying to trade for the black bag. The mascara is great, I’ve used it before, this and the cute compact are very useful. I did not like my earrings though I have seen some nice variations, and do not have any use for the nail kit. Social Bliss is indeed one of the better subscriptions in terms of curation and value.

I thought the little black compact was cute, and then I saw the same one at “Christmas Tree Shops” for about $5, I believe. It’s still a cute compact and I almost picked it up there. Just wanted to let those interested know in case you were just wanted the compact and have a Christmas Tree Shops near you.

I’ve avoided reading this review because I haven’t received my box or even a tracking email yet! I emailed customer service and they told me USPS had lost a bunch of boxes. They are trying to recreate the box and throw in a bonus item. Another option is to just get extra items in May. If anyone else had this problem, contact customer service and let them know!

I got the funky yellowish bag. Not my favorite. Also the nail “kit” was just all round rhinestones…no different shapes or colors or anything. Earrings were completely different than yours. Not my favorite anything, in content or quality (and quality really isn’t an issue for me as several of the boxes I subscribe to don’t exactly do quality jewelry but it’s fun costume stuff…the earrings I got looked like cheap stuff trying to pass as quality CZ). Thankfully I only ordered one month to try it out. Will not renew.

I just received my box and opened it. The purse is lovely. I received navy and I suppose that’s my color this year since I’ve been getting a lot of navy in my subscription boxes. (It’s a good color for me.)

Onto the earrings … the metal plating on the piece you’re supposed to insert into your ear has completely flaked off one of them. I pick it up and it rains down little flecks of silvery metal. It’s completely atrocious quality. If I look at the other one (which is not damaged) then I would think these are nice earrings, classy and sparkly and good for a night out, but knowing how incredibly easy it is for the plating to just flake off has made me reconsider their value. Suffice to say I have canceled this subscription. Yes, they have cute purses that seem to be nice quality and if you want to pay $50 for a cute purse then by all means do so but all of the other items are a little haphazard. Yes, I like that mascara but it’s a mini and I already have plenty of mascara. The nail gems were strange because there was no glue included so it wasn’t actually a kit.

Honestly, if I weren’t so disappointed in the horrible earrings then I would probably give them another month but I’m looking at everything else with a jaded eye now.

Am I the only one who got the “electric” golden yellow Izzy & Ali bag? Wasn’t expecting that!

This was my first box and now I’m scared bc it’s pricey but I don’t want it to be my last. I either LOVED or liked everything. There was nothing I disliked. And the black purse is perfect for going out or for work. I need a black purse for work. Those earrings are gorgeous, I mean I’ll need to wait for an event to wear them to in most cases but I think it’s worth it. The mascara is too faced, which is a brand I love and I love makeup. Compacts are always useful and the nail kit, I’ll have to use on my toe nails because of my job but it’ll be fun to see what I can do with it. I’m very happy with this.

I think it was a fantastic idea for Social Bliss to source their items from non-branded, Chinese import websites at a fraction of the cost as they claim they are worth–BUT, it’s annoying how many people think they’re getting some kind of extraordinary deal. The curation and actual cost of the item may be worth the subscription cost, seeing as how Social Bliss is getting wholesale rates and thus getting items cheaper than I could, but for them to inflate the value is shady to say the least. Last month’s box was full of items I’ve seen on aliexpress even before the box’s review, and this month’s items can be found with a little searching.

Finally got my box – thrilled to receive the navy bag (the color I was craving). The cubic zirconia earrings I received are similar but not quiet the same as yours, Liz. and I’ll probably try to swap as well. Love the compact for some reason – it’s just so practical and cute without being too silly. I also received the same bonus earrings that you did and I think they’ll be perfect for the summer.

Decided to take a break from PSMH for May (soooo hard to let go of that sub), but I think that I’ll be trying this box again – though I hate the mid-month wait!

Got my box today and received the gray bag. It’s very soft and I don’t have a gray bag so I’m ok with the color. The earrings are cute but I don’t have pierced ears anymore so I’ll just keep those in a drawer for whenever. I’ve tried the mascara before and wasn’t impressed so will throw that in the drawer with the earrings, oh and with the nail kit, which isn’t me at all.. The mirror is really cute so will definitely use that. It is a good value obviously for the price and for the bag alone. That being said this was my first box from them and I’ve decided not to continue. I definitely don’t need more bags or wallets every month and I really prefer to choose my own.

Agh! It looks like my box was delivered after work hours and someone took in the lobby. Does anyone know the CS email to contact? Do you think they would refund me or give me another box? So frustrating.

I LOVED the purse, but everything else was “meh.” The only thing I’ll keep (other than the purse) is the mascara. I don’t have pierced ears, so I was bummed to get two sets of earrings, and I just wasn’t into the compact and the nail art. A big letdown after last month, but I’m hoping the May box will be better.

Argh! Where is mine? I paid for a 3-mo sub last month (March-May) and my account doesn’t have any info for the April bag, as well as saying I’ve paid through “March” despite the $128 charge March 3rd. I’ve emailed them to make sure they didn’t screw up, but would be so bummed not to get this box this month!

Got mine today. Gray bag, which I like & my earrings are different. Small hoops with a CZ on them. Overall I like the bag. The mascara is awesome & I can use the nail art with my daughter or for evenings out.

I messaged them and they told me April is available in limited quantities. I just subscribed today for 3 months. So excited! I wish I had known about them sooner. I really like the Feb and March box too!

This will be my first month, I just got an email that my will be here on Monday! :). I hope that I will get the navy or grey bag.

I’m so excited to get my first box! I just got the email tonight that it’s on the way! I wish I would’ve signed up back in February, I’ve loved every box review so far

I love that purse!! I wonder if I were to subscribe, would I get this month’s box? I really want it! I don’t need it, but it’s way pretty!
