Loot Crate Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Box

Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for geeks and gamers. Each month they include everything from collectibles, to stickers, and sometimes there’s even a t-shirt!

Loot Crate kindly sent us this box to review.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Mini Mag

Each box comes with a mini mag that details the items included for that month.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Shirt

TITANFALL Shirt - Value $20?

This is an exclusive shirt made just for Loot Crate subscribers. It's also my husband's favorite item in the box! (He just got the Titanfall game).

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Taffy

Attack on Titan - Scouting Regiment Wristband - Value $5?

Bonus Pins and Taffy

These items probably won't get much use - I think they are going in the gift/swap pile.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Titanfall

Attack on Titanfall Magnet - Value $2?

Titanfall Premium EGuide - Value $9.99

We probably won't use this magnet, but my husband will definitely use the EGuide!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review - March 2014 Lanyard

Titanfall C101 Lanyard - Value $5?

Attack on Titan Manga: 1 - Value $10.99

I think the Attack on Titan Manga book is the one item in this box that isn't Titanfall related.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $50 (I'm estimating on a lot of values though since most of these items were made exclusively for the box and not available for sale online). I think this is a great box if you're into Titanfall, but if you aren't into the game (or you have PS4 and not XBox One), I could see how this box could be a bit of a let down.

What did you think of Loot Crate this month?

I LOVE Attack on Titan, so I was completely happy with this box. I was going back and forth between Nerdblock and Lootcrate, and I think Lootcrate sold me on this. I’m not a huge fan of Titanfall, but I appreciate the swag anyways.

This was our first Loot Crate box as well. I have 4 kiddos, one being a 17 yr old son, then 3 girls 12, 11 and 2 and a hubby. So I knew this sub would go over well in our household. Someone will surely like whatever is sent each month. Even if no one in my brood likes it, between my 3 nephews and all of my kids friends , we will have someone to gift it to.

We have both a PS4 and an X BOX one, so this box was well received by my house, my son in particular was happy when seeing the theme.

I do agree though that some could be disappointed. It seems that when dealing with video games, characters and gear, it’s a safer bet to stick with games that have multi console availability. When going with themes for games that are console specific, only for x box or playstation, it leaves room for unhappy subscribers

This was our first Lootcrate box. I got it for myself and my 12 yr old son. We pre-ordered Titanfall and both of us love the game, so this box was perfect for us. He absolutely loved the shirt (I got it in his size because I took the Call of Duty Ghosts pre-order shirt). My 15 yr old daughter actually liked the Attack on Titan Manga included and of course my son has his house key now on the lanyard.

Overall for our first box I am happy. We are going to keep the subscription another month. We are trying to decide between Lootcrate and Nerdblock. Problem is we have yet to receive our Nerdblock as its still showing sitting in customs in Chicago, IL!!

I loved this box. I love getting items that are unique to lootcrate because then I get to kind of show them off to friends hehe 🙂 My husband and I are both avid gamers.

The email I got from lootcrate about this month’s theme said that it was Titan themed and explained that there would be items from both Titanfall and Attack On Titan. I think this is because they are not just both titan themed but also because there is some controversy as to whether or not Titanfall was actually “inspired” (some people use other less friendly words lol) by Attack on Titan.

Either way, I think the boxes are getting better. Two months with tshirts is awesome. This feels like a much better value than back in the day when we used to get our unique tees off of woot.com.

My kids love the Attack on Titan stuff but they are really big on anime. I actually think the wrist warmer was a pretty nice touch. This box was kind of something for everyone in my house.

We’ll just keep our toes crossed for the megacrate some day!

Another bust for the person it was intended for. My daughter loves Attack on Titan but my husband does not. I think I’m canceling after next months box.

Just an FIY, this box seems to have two themes. The game Titanfall and the anime / manga Attack on Titan. The scouting legion wristband and manga book are both from Attack on Titan. And the Attack on Titanfall magnet seems to be some sort of crossover between the two. It’s kind of weird to put them together, but they do both fit the titan theme! 🙂

I agree that it’s weird to include Attack on Titan with Titan Fall, other than they both have Titan in the name. I unfortunately do NOT have access to an XboxOne, so have no opinion on Titan Fall, but am an avid fan of Attack on Titan, can’t wait until Hulu gets more episodes. I don’t recommend this show for anyone under 14 tho, very dark and gruesome at times and loaded with extremely graphic violence.

You can watch all the episodes on http://www.crunchyroll.com for free. That’s where I started and finished! 🙂
