Fancy Food Box Subscription Review - February 2014 Box

I'm a big fan of the Fancy Food Box. I think it's of the most consistent Fancy boxes, and I often recommend it if someone is wondering which Fancy Box to start with. (Every month you can count on them to send full size gourmet food items, and usually a kitchen item).

Fancy kindly sent me this box to review.

Fancy Food Box Subscription Review - February 2014 Unzipped

Roni-Sue Beer & Caramel Pretzel Nuggets - Value $12

Unzipped Glass Bag - Value $12

I couldn't enjoy these pretzels because I avoid dairy and gluten, but I was told they were insanely good!

Fancy Food Box Subscription Review - February 2014 Chocolate

Chocolat Modern Passion Fruit White Chocolate Bar - Value $8

NuNu Chocolates South African Amarula Ganaches - Value $8

Fortunately I got this box before Valentine's Day - so I had lots of chocolate to gift/share!

Fancy Food Box Subscription Review - February 2014 Kale

New York Naturals Kale Chips in Sea Salt & Vinegar - Value $7.50

Lala's Nuts Bodacious Bourbon Walnuts - Value $6

This was a very indulgent box, so the kale chips definitely seemed out of place, but I was happy to find one item I could eat! They were really good too!

Verdict: This box has a value a little over $60. Normally food boxes tend to have values equal to the cost, so I'm impressed with the value. Plus, almost all of these brands were new to us, so it was a great way to sample new gourmet brands!

What did you think of the February Fancy Food Box?

I was really disappointed in this box. It didn’t make any sense to me, as quite a few of the previous boxes were themed. My kale chips arrived as a pile of kale dust..
I felt like this was Fancy getting rid of stock they didn’t want to pay taxes on again. For instance, the Unzipped bag had been on Fancy forever.
When I went to look these items up on Fancy, sure enough most were no longer for sale.
When I tried to find the Roni-Sue pretzel site, it was no longer a working site.
This box was a big miss for me. I was surprised because I am a longtime subscriber and normally really enjoy this box.
Maybe this months will be better.

Roni-Sue still exists outside of Fancy. http://www.roni-sue.com/shop/

I just got their BaCorn from somewhere else and I’m hooked.

Not impressed at all. You get it free from them to sponsor but I’d be pissed if I paid $40 for that junk
