Julep Maven is a monthly nail polish and beauty subscription box. They make all their own products, so subscribers get a good value each month - over $40 retail worth of product for only $19.99 a month.
Each month Julep releases a new collection on the 20th, and you can decide which box you want, you can upgrade to the entire collection, or you can skip that month. (It's super easy to skip in your online account - you don't have to call in).
For the January 2014 Julep Maven box I decided to splurge and upgrade to the entire collection. I love neutral shades, and the January box seemed to have lots of neutral shades with enough new finishes to keep it interesting!
The Subscription Box: Julep Maven
The Cost: $19.99 a month (+$30 if you upgrade)
The Products: Nail polish plus beauty items.
Ships to: US and Canada

Ta Da! Quick Dry Drops! - Value $14
Vanish Cuticle Softener & Remover - Value $18
I haven't tried the cuticle softener yet, but I do really like the Quick Dry Drops. (The formula is scented with lavender oil and works great!)
Julep Nail Color in Annemarie - Value $14
Julep Nail Color in Hope - Value $14
Julep Nail Color in Farrah - Value $14
The Hope and Farrah colors are the new satin finish - from the pictures I've seen on Instagram so far, I think I'm going to love the Satin polishes!
Julep Nail Color in Hannah - Value $14
Julep Nail Color in Noelle - Value $14
Julep Nail Color in Mae - Value $14
Julep Nail Color in Mona - Value $14
Julep Nail Color in Margot - Value $14
Julep Nail Color in Abigail - Value $14
I think Abigail is going to be my new go-to neutral shade, at least for a week or two!
Julep also offers add-ons each month at a discount that you can add to your subscription. This month I couldn't resist The Resort Collection ($14.99). I think this was exclusive to subscribers since I can't find it for sale on their site.
It has the cutest packaging, but the bottles are SO tiny! (For reference, the normal Julep nail polish bottle is 8 ml, and these minis are 3 ml each). I think this may be the first time in my life where I actually finish a nail polish bottle!
Colors from left to right: Lani, Anita, Malia and the Freedom Polymer Top Coat.
(I really like their Freedom top coat - it gives any polish a SUPER shiny finish).
Verdict: I'm glad I did the upgrade this month, and I'm also glad I got the mini set - after looking at all those neutral shades I needed a bright polish fix!
What Julep Maven box did you go with this month and what did you think of it?
