Cypress and 5th Women's Clothing Subscription Review Box

Cypress and 5th is a brand new women's clothing subscription service. Each month their stylists put together a "dressing room" for you in your account based on your style, and you get to select 2-3 pieces (one top, bottom, and accessory or one dress and accessory).

Cypress and 5th kindly let me try out the service at no cost for review purposes - and they shipped it out to me super fast!

Cypress and 5th Women's Clothing Subscription Review Clothing

The Subscription Box: Cypress and 5th

The Cost: $74.95 a month

The Products: Your pick of either a dress and an accessory, or a top, a bottom and an accessory.

Ships to: US Only

Cypress and 5th Women's Clothing Subscription Review Cards

Each shipment comes with cards giving you styling suggestions for your new clothing items!

Cypress and 5th Women's Clothing Subscription Review Folded Sweater

Tribal Black Cardigan

I have a small obsession with oversized open-cardigans this winter, so I had to pick this!

Cypress and 5th Women's Clothing Subscription Review Sweater

It's super soft, and I already know I'll be wearing it a lot!

(A closer look).

Cypress and 5th Women's Clothing Subscription Review Leggings

Khaki Leggings

While I don't think I could wear these instead of pants, I think they'll look like khakis with a tunic or other long top! (I picked these knowing they would push me out of my clothing comfort zone a little bit!)

FYI - not sure if this is the case with all Cypress and 5th clothing items, but both the leggings and sweater are from the brand Blu Pepper.

Cypress and 5th Women's Clothing Subscription Review Fox Ring

Gold Fox Ring

I'm not much of a ring wearer, but this was my favorite item of all the accessories in my dressing room.

Cypress and 5th Women's Clothing Subscription Review Ring Back

It has a stretchy band so it fits perfectly and it's definitely fun!

Verdict: I think the sweater, leggings and ring are definitely worth the $74.95. To be fair, I haven't worn the items multiple times and put them through the laundry, but so far I'm impressed with the quality of the garments.

Have you given Cypress and 5th a try? What items did you get in your dressing room?

I looked at the site but I would not be able to wear any of the pants offered – they only go up to a size 12 or a 33 waist. I wear a size 18.

Hi Carol

We are sorry that you are having a hard time with our site. My only advise would be to do a hard reset to your browser and try again. We have been having a lot of activity so our site might be working slow.

Sorry

I’ve tried so many times that I’ve given up. Not sure if I’m putting it in wrong or if its the site. I’m not sure how I could being doing it wrong since it basically fills it in for you. Oh well, but it looks cool. I missed the golden tote, so I really wanted to try something knew. Hope you guys get it fixed !

The fox ring (although I am not a gold gal) is adorable!! The leggings–I’d call them jodhpurs/leggings (sans the stirrup thingies jodhpurs would have) are adorable and I’d wear with riding boots.

Okay, the 80’s are back….. and in ways I’m not too excited about… in high school I wore Esprit and Benetton mostly (I graduated from high school in 1989) an the sweater knit reminds me of some of the Esprit sweaters I had and as my style evolved (I wear mostly Prada, Miu Miu, and Marni these days peppered with J. Crew cashmere, vintage pieces, things I make myself, and some other high-end designers). This sweater’s knit just reminds me of what to me now looks tacky (PLEASE NO ONE WHO LOVES THIS TAKE NO OFFENSE–I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD WEAR WHAT THEY LOVE AND MAKES THEM HAPPY)–it could just be I am reminded of icky high school memories–growing up, ugh)…. What material is it? Looks like an acrylic blend to me (could be wool–I know I had wool Esprit knits like that), but obviously the teen me had NO ISSUE with this type of knit, but maybe now I’ve spoiled myself as well.

P.S. FYI: that type of knit does tend to pull a lot but all you have to do is pull the pull inside so it’s hidden–of course we know never to cut them off–this works for any sweater, actually!!

Hi Karen

Thank you so much for your review. I totally understand where you are coming from about the 80s sweaters. I am also a child of the 80s and I love that it’s making a comeback but I am a sucker for the 80s =D

I definitely agree with you about wear what you love!!

As for the material, good eye! It is acrylic blend. Our site does give material makeup on all the items. I wish we were able to do a full wool sweater but at our price points, it’s practically impossible.

Thanks!

Annie

You know, I like the idea of this very much. And I don’t mind gold accessories. But I got about halfway through the profile and just wasn’t seeing anything that reflected my personal style (I hate wearing neutrals and pastels — I like bold, bright, solid colors). Oh well, saved myself some money, I guess. Money that I will surely go and spend on some other indulgence (I have had a particular weakness for JustFab shoes lately…).

We are sorry that you feel we are not able to get your style. We do our best to accommodate as many people as possible but sometimes certain styles do fall through the cracks.

As for the questionnaire, besides the colors, what about the style and type of clothes. Were you able to relate to any of those? Say you liked the top and bottom that were pictured just not the color. Depending on how you picked the “style” of clothing we do have many options of bright colorful pieces that can be put into your room.

Please try to go through the questionnaire and answer as honest as possible and see if we are able to put together something of your liking.

Well, thanks for responding to my comment. Maybe I will finish the questionnaire and see what comes of it. I am not so into shorts and short skirts (not appropriate for work at a law firm! and maybe not so appropriate at age 36, either…) but if there are longer skirts/dresses or long pants, then I’ll probably find something to work with. It is definitely good to know you are interested in what people think of the clothes and that you’re responding to feedback!

Rachel

Ah! I’m so excited for mine! 😀

We are really sorry to all of mysubcriptionaddiction’s readers. Our discount redemption is currently down. We are so sorry for the inconvenience and we hope this does not sway your opinion of us. The code should be working by next week.

I think it’s great that they are actually communicating with customers and taking concern. I might have to give this a try when it comes into budget and let other people know!

Reply ButtonReply

Cypress and 5th

Hi Katelyn! We are trying our best to respond to everyone that reaches out to us. It is starting to get a little more difficult with the influx of new registers but we will try our best to get back to everyone ASAP.

While we wait to make it into your budget, you should go ahead and “get started” by completely our profile questionnaire so that we can send you your dressing room. Remember, there is no commitment to get your monthly room!!

That is so great to know! I will definitely have to do that tomorrow!

Megan

Wondering if anyone has ipad luck yet? I can’t get the site to work properly on mine. Should I just give up on this one?

Hi Megan,

Our site is not optimized for smartphone or tablet use. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We will be looking for ways to allow members to shop via smartphone and tablet in the future.

I looked at my dressing room as well, and none of my items really caught my eye. Can’t wait to see what is in there next month!!

Hi Samantha!

Thank you for signing up!! If you would like, we can send you another room!

I would love to see another room! And, like Maggie, I don’t wear much gold either. :-/

crystal ann

I love the items you got! Very cute! I can’t wait for my dressing room to be done.

Maggie

They never actually told me that my dressing room is ready. I just went and checked mine out after seeing this post, and it was there. Can’t say that there was anything in my dressing room that I’m that interested in. 🙁 Maybe next month.

Colleen

I feel the same. I like one or two pieces, but wasn’t crazy about any of them. They just weren’t really my style. What really clinched it was the accessory piece. I didn’t see one that I think I would wear. But this does seem like a really neat service. Maybe next month?

Hi Colleen

We are sorry that you did not see anything that caught your eye. We are trying our best to accommodate every type of person and we are learning as we go.

Thank you for keeping an open mind about our next month’s rooms!

Cypress & 5th

Hi Maggie!

We have some rooms open but were waiting to get our discount code fixed before sending out emails. Thank you for being so excited and taking the initiative though! We are sorry that you didn’t see anything that caught your fancy. Would you like another room for this month?

Maggie

I wouldn’t mind checking out other items that you might have. One of the things I wasn’t very excited about is that it seemed that all of the accessories were gold, and I rarely wear gold.

Cypress & 5th

Hi Liz!

Thanks for another awesome review! And it was definitely by coincidence that both your items are Blu Pepper. We do carry other brands but Blu Pepper is by far one of our favorites!!

How long did it take for your dressing room to be ready? I’ve been waiting a few days now and I’m getting impatient.

Reply ButtonReply

Cypress & 5th

Hi Kaitlin

Thank you for your interest and sorry for the delay. We have had a huge influx of new registers and we are trying to go through them as quickly as possible.

We are also having an issue with our discount and would like to get that working again so that all our new members can make use of the 15% off code: SUBADDICT

Thank you for your patience. You will receive an email when your dressing room is ready. We should be all caught up by mid day Friday, 1/10/14 for all registers through 1/7/14.
