Birchbox February 2014 Sneak Peek – Us Weekly Special Box

Birchbox and US Weekly February BoxFor February, Birchbox is partnering with Us Weekly to do a red-carpet inspired "Step and Repeat" box that is curated by Us Weekly's Beauty Director Gwen Flamberg. If you're already a subscriber, you will definitely get the Us Weekly box. If you haven't subscribed yet, and want to make sure you get this box and not the regular welcome box, sign up at: www.birchbox.com/usweekly.

Some of the brands included for the February Box: Smashbox, OPI, dr. brandt® and Beauty Protector (from the press release), but I also spy Harney & Sons tea, W3LL People, Coola, Caudalie, Miracle Skin Transformer, and Bain de Terre.

What do you think of the February Birchbox spoilers? (I know I'm probably in the minority on this - but I'm really excited about the Harney & Sons tea - I love that brand!)

The Birchbox waitlist is usually less than 2 weeks. Hope that helps!

Just an FYI “Please note: Joining Birchbox via the link above does not guarantee receipt of the February Us Weekly -themed Box, as supplies are limited.”

Lynne

That was on the link Liz provided in the fine print.

Liz, how do you get a second subscription? Do you sign up under a different email address? I’m curious! Hope you had a great holiday and a happy new year!

Liz Cadman

Yep – second email address!

LOVE W3LL people, resubbed after a hiatus for this box/the extra points. I may even get a second sub for it! They have some really lovely brands this time, so hopefully I don’t get burned like the Gossip Girl Box….

I love W3LL people too – I hope we both get that sample in Feb! 🙂

What is the OPI product? Is looks like some special new kind of effects top coat or am I just wishfully thinking?

Is it an extra type of box? Like extra pieces, or more or larger sized? I’ve never got birchbox bc I’ve found it to be the lowest I. The totem pole. But this box looks pretty good…
I’ve realized its like ipsy but I don’t think as good but do t attack me, it’s jus me opinion and I rly do t know it too well so idk of it’s not as good!
I am curious about this box though.
Thanks.

As someone who subscribes to both Ipsy and Birchbox, I have to say Birchbox is “nicer” for ME. I cancelled Ipsy this month actually, and kept Birchbox. I just noticed that Ipsy sent me way too many bright red lipsticks regardless of my preferences, and also the makeup bag concept was fun at first but then got old when I had WAY too many makeup bags haha! I also like that BB started throwing in goodies like chocolates and tea in the boxes instead of just beauty products. The only thing I liked about Ipsy more was that the products were usually full size and that’s a big plus! Just my opinion 🙂

No, it should be the same as a regular Birchbox – 4 to 5 samples. It’s just a collaboration with Us Weekly. Hope that helps!

For new subscribers you get the box, US weekly magazine subscription ($9.95 value), 100 Birchbox points ($10 value) AND the box! Great deal. I already subscribe to US Weekly so will do the refund and that will pay for the box! I’m in!

Liz Cadman

Yes, all current Birchbox subscribers will get some variation of the Us Weekly box

This makes me want to sign up for a second Birchbox account just to maximize the number of different samples I could get in February. XD

I’ve already signed up for the email that will come with a code for the new subscribers to get the February box… might as well, right? 😉

Glenda

Interesting. Looks like you can then opt out of the magazine subscription and get a refund. I assume that means you’ll eventually get a check for $9.95, the value of the subscription.

Omg. I would love it if we got all of those items, but I’m pretty sure that’s pretty far fetched. Lol.
