Nerd Block Review - December 2013 Blue and White box

Nerd Block is a monthly subscription box for geeks and gamers. (It’s similar to Loot Crate, though a little pricier). If you’re looking to get new figurines and t-shirts each month, I definitely recommend this subscription – my husband likes it a lot!

Nerd Block Review - December 2013 The Hobbit

Gandalf POP Vinyl figure – Retail Value $12

I think this was my husband’s favorite item in the box!

Nerd Block Review - December 2013 Zelda

Zelda Shirt – Value $18?

I’m estimating on the value since I believe all the shirts in Nerd Block boxes are made exclusively for subscribers. (All their shirts are 100% cotton).

Nerd Block Review - December 2013 Blind Box

Blind Bag Items – Value $6?

Subscription boxes are already a bit of a gamble, so the surprise within a surprise definitely makes Nerd Block interesting.

Nerd Block Review - December 2013 Watch Instructions Toy Items

I’m not familiar with the monster marbles or crazy bones toys, but the Iron Man toy is a twist off pen.

Nerd Block Review - December 2013 Watch Instructions

Samurai Inferno Watch – Retail Value $49.95

I was a little disappointed that this watch didn’t come packaged in it’s own box. (It is wrapped in plastic though).

Nerd Block Review - December 2013 Light Up Watch

The design is pretty slick though.

Verdict: We paid $19.99 plus $9.50 shipping (to the US) for this box. This box has a retail value of over $80, so the value is impressive and I think my husband will use almost everything in the box.

What did you think of the December Nerd Block?

  1. My total monthly subscription cost came to $32.99. For that amount, I received an awesome, albeit broken watch (yeah, it did not work), a Zelda tshirt, three blind packs, and a Pop Vinyl figure. Maybe its because of the watch ordeal but I am pretty disappointed. What I got was not worth a subscription cost to me. I’ve written them about the watch so based on how they handle it, this might be my 1st and last box from Nerd Block.

  2. I was pretty disappointed with the watch. It would have been nice if there was something feminine in the box since the watch was obviously a mens watch. They built it up too saying how pricey it was.

  3. That Zelda shirt! Ahhhh! I wish I had gotten this box.

  4. Your website was just featured on my local news! I believe it was a story “re-reported” from its major affiliate (NBC). But they were doing a story on subscription services and mentioned your site and showed it for like 2 seconds.

    • What?! Can you give me any more info to find the clip? I’m super curious now 🙂

    • I found the clip. So cool! Thanks for letting me know! 🙂

      • I thought you would like to know. I thought it was pretty neat
