Sample Society Box Review - September 2013

Sample Society is a monthly beauty subscription box. I've been subscribing for at least a year now, and I am always impressed with the value of the samples they send. The brands are always high-end and the sample sizes are always generous. I definitely recommend this box!

Deepa Gurnani Marquise Flower Clip - Value $40

This hair clip is beautiful! It's so well-made, and I love how it catches the light. I think I'll be wearing this to upcoming fall weddings!

Elemental Herbology Facial Glow Radiance Peel - .5 oz Value $18.80

Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser - .25 oz Value $2

I love both of these brands. The Suki face cleanser will be great for travel, and I'm excited to try the Radiance Peel. I'm currently using Elemental Herbology moisturizer from my last Sample Society box and I'm a fan!

L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Face Cream - .5 oz Value $17

Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion Serum - .17 oz Value $13.25

This Murad serum is phthalate, paraben, and sulfate free, and it also has good reviews - I can't wait to try it!

Verdict: I am SO happy with the September Sample Society Box! I paid $15 for this box and received $90 worth of quality skin products and a stunning hair clip. This is definitely one of Sample Society's best boxes in my opinion. What did you get in your Sample Society box this month?

So, does everyone get a different box? I just received the November box and I’m more than underwhelmed.

I haven’t received my November box yet, but typically they have 4-5 variations on the box each month. What did you get in your November Sample Society box?

I was so stoked by this review and signed up immediately after you posted it. I was shocked to be charged $15.90 today, though. I assumed it was actually $15 a month – even their website says that. But when you look closely at your account, you see they charge tax – boo! Hopefully it will be worth it, as I’ve had to cut cheaper boxes out of my lineup.

I received the L’occitane jar which is a great size sample and nice jar. I also got a tiny tiny tube of Solar Sciences night serum with retinol, I was very excited to try this but when I held it up to the light, the tube wasn’t even close to half way full. The hair accessory in my box was a gold and silver crystal hair band that said it was hand made in India… Love the lemon sugar scrub and you only need a very tiny amount. Overall I really like this box, I think the samples are little compared to others but good quality brands!

Totally bummed that I didn’t get neither the L’Occitane nor the Murad products. I got the scroll clip in gunmetal (which I like) Suki forming cleanser, Arcona Cranberry Toner, Bio Bliss Lock It Serum, and MD Solar Science Daily Moisturizer.

I got the SAME box! I am bummed out that I didn’t get a deborah lippman full sized polish, and a Jane Iredale mascara sample like this lady apparently got
BUT I am SO happy with the toner. I just bought a full size because its so wondrous!

Wow! You lucked out! I received mine last night and I too am kind of disappointed. First of my barrette was nothing more than beaded brown and grey fabric in a figure eight pattern. The value looks like about ten bucks tops. There is no way the retail value is $45 bucks for that barrette, not even at Nordstrom’s! I also got a small sample of Suki sugar lemongrass cleanser(I mean small-smaller than the one in my most recent Birchbox). A vial of Arcona cranberry toner–which oddly was in a unlabeled container?.Biobliss serum, which I used this morning and would most likely be very nice on normal or oily skin. And a sample of Alessandro moisturizer that even though was unopened, only produced one glop of moisturizer that I used today. So not enough moisturizer for me to see any kind of difference. All in all okay. I just really wish I had gotten your barrette…

Do you happen to know if I could still order this box if I sign up today?

Jennifer @ Mom's Got Mail

Dianna, you won’t get this one. Sample Society is great about mailing their boxes out on time. You wouldn’t get one until October 3rdish. I wish I still subscribed. I had to drop them to help keep my costs low. This is a really good box for them. The one I got in June wasn’t even close to this.
