Bourbon and Boots recently launched their own subscription box program. I decided to sign up for a 3-month subscription, and this is the second box I've now received from them. (Check out my review of the first Bourbon and Boots box).
The Box: Bourbon & Boots Box
The Cost: $42 a month
The Products: These boxes will be filled with only the things hand-selected by the Bourbon & Boots staff.
Pig Shaped 9 Inch Cutting Board - Value$35
The BBQ Pantry Bacon Love - Bacon Infused Sea Salt - Value $4
This cutting board is pretty tiny for a cutting board, but really well-made. And super cute! It might be more of a decorative piece for me!
When I opened this tin of bacon infused salt, I definitely could smell the bacon! We tried it in an omelet, and the bacon flavor didn't really stand out, so I'm thinking it will work best as a finishing salt.
Baxter's XXX Peach and Bourbon Smoking Chips - Value $8
Maurice's Southern Gold BBQ Sauce Original - Value $7
Verdict: I paid $42 for this box and it had a value of about $54 - I'm definitely happy with the value this month. One thing I didn't realize when I subscribed is that the July through September boxes are all about BBQ - and for me it will probably take us months to get through the BBQ products in the first box, so I'm thinking I'm probably not the target customer for this box!
If you're curious about the themes for boxes, here's a breakdown from their site:
- July through September will feature exciting essentials to get you through the BBQ and grilling season and survive the hot, sultry southern summer.
- October through December boxes will be packed full of festively-themed treats to carry you from Halloween through Thanksgiving and the holiday season.
- January through March will have a little something sweet. For you, for your Valentine, for your anyone. Get a broad sampling of the sweeter side of the South through small-batch artisans.
- April through June get off the couch and take in the spring air. These boxes will be packed full of outdoor and travel essentials…anything from wilderness adventures to propping your feet up on the front porch with your favorite beverage in hand.
Of course now I really want to see what's in the October-December festively-themed treats boxes! What did you think of the Bourbon and Boots box this month?
