Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review - July 2013

Last month I subscribed to the Wantable Makeup Box and I loved how much I could customize the box. Basically you can let them know your color and style preferences, but you can also let them know what products you never want to receive. This is perfect if say, you don't wear lipstick, but you love lipgloss. Or if you have enough eyeliner to last you 5 years!

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review - July 2013

Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided that since I liked the Wantable Makeup subscription so much, I might like the Wantable Accessories subscription box too! There is a thorough survey that asks for your preferences in style, material, and actual items. I liked how much i could specify what I wanted. For example, I love bracelets, but I can't wear bangle bracelets when I work because it annoys me when I type, so I picked out exactly what types of bracelets I wanted and which ones I didn't.

I also love gold toned jewelry, and don't usually like how silver toned jewelry looks on my skin tone, so I let them know - no silver tones!

I'm going to start the review with my favorite item in the box - this gold stone pendant necklace!

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review - July 2013

Willow Necklace - Value $28

I let them know in my style profile that I like gold necklaces that are delicate to medium weight. This is definitely what I was looking for! I love the color of the stone, and the way the chains drape over the stone is beautiful!

I had to take a close-up picture!

Collette Sunglasses - Value $12

At first glance these sunglasses weren't really my style, and I was somewhat surprised to see that they were silver-tone when I requested no silver. I emailed customer care to ask if the metal color preferences applied to the accessories as well, or just jewelry. I was pleasantly surprised when Wantable wrote back to me in less than an hour, apologized, and let me know they already sent me a pair of gold sunglasses. (I got the shipping confirmation email for these new sunglasses two minutes later).

So in conclusion (based on my one experience) Wantable Customer Care rocks! (I'll be gifting these shades to a friend and waiting for my new pair to show up!)

Alana Scarf in Mint - Value $32

I love a good circle scarf, so this is going to my ever-growing collection!

Verdict: So far, I'm a fan of the Wantable Accessories Box. I LOVE my new necklace, I'm happy to expand my circle scarf collection, and I'm excited to see what my new sunglasses will look like! Do you subscribe to the Wantable Accessories Box? Have you been happy with the items based on your profile?

This is the most recent accessories box post for Wantable, so here is my two cents – I ordered the February 2014 box, and although the items fit my preferences, they were so cheaply made there was already damage and stones coming loose. I requested a return form, but when contacted Wantable customer service about the fact that the items were damaged, they told me that I needed to “update my preferences”. As if I had ASKED for busted jewelry! No offer to replace any of the items, and no word from the company since that one and only e-mail. If I do not get my refund in a timely manner, or if I continue to get boxes after cancelling this horrid subscription, you can guarantee I will take legal action.

I was initially very happy with all three of their subscription boxes. Frankly, my expectations were not crazily high, I mean in I recognize $36 and you are not going to get some crazy high end products. However, I received my Dec accessories box today, first the ring was the exact same I had received last month. The necklace, meh, I received almost the identical one in silver last month as well. The real kicker was the head band. It was the one product that did have a manufacture (Pin and Tube) listed so I went to the website. The headband I received retails for $6.00, on the Wantable invoice it is listed as $24?! I have already canceled my makeup box subscription, returned my Nov intimates box because of quality and will now return my Dec box. I plan on canceling all three. I understand that I would have not/may not love every box but it would appear there is some deceptive practices in the valuing of items in the box.

I am writing to all as a buyer beware of this horrible scam! First, I originally started my order in May. I wanted to just try one month of each to see if I liked it but the site would only let me sign up for the monthly subscription. That was a major red flag and I should have stopped there. But I figured, I could simply cancel if I didn’t like them. Well, the frst boxes came in June. Unimpressed and cheap doesn’t even begin to describe the product. First, finding out someone’s age range would be helpful, since at 34 they sent me anti aging wrinkle cream! Travel size no less! They also sent me a nail polish which I specifically said no to. The accessories box was worse. There were 4 items and 3 of them were earrings. Not much diversity. I said no gold jewelry. The earrings had gold, combined with bright, cheap looking stones. They looked like 5 dollar earrings at best. I was very disappointed. I tried to cancel, via email, as there is NO customer service! No response. Not even an apology for sending me clearly wrong items! I got aviator sunglasses, gold again, that would fit the head of a child and were just as cheap! They were hideous!
Here’s where it gets really bad. They kept sending boxes! So I contacted my credit card company. They put a block on their company and I refused to accept more boxes. I got my refund, then next month, more boxes! By now I am livid! The credit card company told me that wantable got around the block by changing the name they billed under. A new block was issued to last until October 2014. Last month, again more boxes. So I cancelled my credit card. No payment, no boxes? Wrong! Today, two more boxes showed up. I was livid! I called the credit card company to find out if wantable got paid. The answer…yes!! How!! I re emailed wantable and threatened legal action if they did not stop billing me. I have cancelled 5 times and never a response and no phone number to call. Now Chase Visa put a fraud alert out for wantable on my account and I told wantable. I have had to deny acceptance of every package and dispute the charge for the refund. I get my money back, but they will not stop. Is this how they keep clients? Never have I ever seen this before. I closed my account and they still collected their money. I have never opened any of these subsequent packages. Why bother, it’s cheap garbage. It’s suited for teens, not adults. They also don’t listen to preferences. I still can’t get over the wrinkle cream….really? That was the clincher for me.

They will be reported to the better business bureau. I won’t stand for illegal activity!

I am writing in the July comment section because there are no newer reviews to comment in for the Accesories boxes. I have to say I ordered Septembers Acc. Box and it was aweful. Ful of a piece of plastic jewelry and the cheapest fake pearls I have ever seen! The sunglasses were ugly and solve and I told the, I wanted gold metals not silver. Trashy!! Went in the garbage. And that was all I got! Complete waste of $$$$$$. Cancelled to never go back Accesories, makeup, intimates or what ever cheap china stuff they come up with!! Learned my lesson quick with this one!!! Hope this saves someone from purchasing a subscription!

I order the October version of the Accessories box and I have to say I was so disappointed! I recd a pair of sunglasses Value $20 that I liked. Only thing I liked! The two pieces of Jewelry were junk! I make jewelry and I am always interested in others. These two pieces were made with with industrial looking pieces and chain and I asked for classy look, and this was definitely not class! I will be canceling this subscription. I am not going to even give it another chance.

Wow! What a great box! Both Wantable boxes are my most wanted subs! I’m trying hard to break my Starbucks habit as that will pay for both in a month almost. Anyway, I am going to use your link and try to buy that fantabulous necklace!!! Wish me luck 🙂 I hope they still have some!!!

I purchased this box and received it a few days ago. I have to say that I wasn’t impressed with the products I received. After doing a survey on the products we like, I have no idea why they sent me a gold bracelet. I specified I didn’t like gold products. They products were really good quality (or at least it looks like they are). I can definitely re-gift them, so at least I wont lose my money. For the 52 dollars I spent, I don’t think I got a great deal.

@allcapsERINN

UGH – I would love to know how you customized your accessories box. I had been a big fan of this box for a while, but ironically as soon as they offered more detailed customization options, my boxes went downhill.

For instance, I would have been ECSTATIC over your box above. But in my last box I got GIANT (as in, realllllly?????) sparkly hoops that looked a little dollar store-ish; a bright blue, big-bead necklace that looked a little dollarstore-ish (with matching earrings); a Walgreens-ish headband; and a tiny tassel necklace that was just sort of *shrug*.

None of it looked like anything that matched my custom preferences, so I have no clue what I did wrong. I’ve been skipping months since then.

I was so bummed. I do appreciate that they let you return the items for a full refund, but my job is so hectic I usually miss the return-date deadlines for this kind of stuff.

I don’t know. $36 is suddenly a lot for me these days, sadly. I may give them one more try though.

I LOVE accessories and I’m super impressed with this fun box, esp that cool necklace and reading about the great customer service is always a plus for an online service 🙂

I got the accessories box for the first time this month! I WISH I’d got a scarf. But, I did really like most of the things I got. I only wear prescription sunglasses, so I told them I dislike them. You can check out my box if you want, I linked the post to my name.
