Subscription Boxes for Kids - Kid Stash Review

Kid Stash is a new subscription box for kids - it's full of fun toys, boys and educational projects! (Check out all of the subscription boxes for kids in the Kid's Subscription Box Directory). Thank you to Kid Stash for sending me this box to review!

Kid Stash is the second subscription box from Milk and Honey Kids (Check out my review of their Cotton Booty box if you are interested in a cloth diaper subscription service).  This box is geared toward kids 3-7.

Each box comes with a card giving you details on each item in the box - this month's theme is all about insects. While I'm not a fan of bugs, I know so many kids would love this box!

Learning Resources Giant Inflatable Insects in LadyBug - Value $10

The Leaf Men by William Joyce - Value $8

This book has great reviews, and the illustrations are gorgeous!

Verdict: This box has a value of $37 - considering the cost is $27 including shipping, I think that's an amazing value! I also love that each box has a theme - this would make an amazing gift! I will be sharing this box with a cousin - and I know she will love it! Since there are a lot of kid craft boxes in the subscription box marketplace, I like that this new kid's box is a little different and includes toys! What do you think of Kid Stash?

This service is apparently no more. I paid for a sub box in early January and after waiting 6 weeks and not receiving anything (was to be a birthday gift for a sweet little boy), and them ignoring my emails and their phone number being out of service, I did some Internet sleuthing and it appears they discontinued their subscription service as of Jan 2014. And yet they still gladly took my money, knowing it was for nothing. Their website still lists an active subscription service. Unlike most sub companies, this one has 2 brick and mortar stores in PA. I’ve officially reported them to the PA Attorney General for fraud. And initiated a credit card chargeback. Just disgusted.

This looks very promising, but I couldn’t find instructions on the site about how to terminate a subscription. That’s the first thing I’d want to know before giving up my credit card number.

I have a daughter who is about to turn 7, and would love that box. I have many friends with preschool age children that this would be perfect for as well. I do like the themes with the book, toy, craft and activity. Would make perfect birthday gifts to have on hand.
