Ipsy July 2013 Review - Makeup Subscription Box

Every month my Ipsy bag arrives in this bright pink package (just like the Ellie subscription!) If you are looking for an inexpensive makeup subscription program, I definitely recommend Ipsy. It's on the low range of prices for subscriptions ($10) and usually most products are full or deluxe size!

Ipsy July 2013 Review - Makeup Subscription Box

Each month comes with a makeup bag as well. This clear plastic barbie-pink bag is great for the beach - very fitting since the theme this month is Beach Beauty!

The Box: Glam Bag by Ipsy

The Cost: $10 a month (free shipping)

The Products: Full size and samples of makeup and beauty products.

Check out all of my Ipsy reviews and the Beauty Subscription Box Directory!

Ipsy July 2013 Review - Makeup Subscription Box

Each month comes with a card - but it's a little different than the typical subscription box card. Instead of describing the products in your bag, they have coupon codes and offers from all the brands you may receive in your Ipsy bag that month:

It's kind of a tease to see other products you didn't get - but at least there are discount offers if you want to buy something you missed. (I was hoping for Benefit in this bag).

Ipsy July 2013 Review - Makeup Subscription Box

Pop Pouty Pop Crayon in Coral Crush -Value $5?

Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray - 50 mL Value $6.67

Hm - I could only find this Pop Crayon in a set, so I'm not sure what the exact value should be.

Selena Gomez for Nicole by O.P.I in Pretty in Plum - Value $7

Nailtini Nail Lacquer in Mai Tai - Value $13

FYI - The Selena Gomez nail polish is a bonus item I earned this month for referring two people to Ipsy. While the plum color feels a little more fall than summer to me, I can't wait to try out this bright coral shade - it screams summer pedi to me!

Coola Mineral Sunscreen Tinted Moisturizer - .25 oz Value $5

California Collection Eyeshadow Trio from bh Cosmetics - Value $3

I think this Coola moisturizer is my favorite item in the July bag. I love that it's organic and paraben-free, and the tint gives just enough coverage to replace a BB Cream or foundation.

Verdict: I paid $10 for the July Ipsy bag, and I received about $40 worth of product. I'm always impressed with the value of Ipsy bags! What did you get in your July Ipsy Bag and what item was your favorite?

I received my first ipsy bag it included all mentioned except the nail polish? I wonder if that was a fluke or is everyone bag different? Should I contact them?

Everyone gets different items based on the quiz that you take when you sign up. If you go to the website and log in, you can see the items that you got and they also show all of the items that were included that month to see what other people got. My box had three of these items and two others!

I just signed up for Ipsy yesterday and am on the waiting list. Does anyone know how long it generally takes to be “bumped” from the waiting list to the mailing list?

I signed up at the beginning of June and did not get the July bag. I received an email on July 31st that I would receive the August bag.

I can’t remember exactly, but I think it took about 2 months for me to get off the waitlist. Hope that helps!

I didn’t realize the Nailtini polish retails for so much. You can get two OPI polishes for that amount! You’re absolutely right that the Mai Tai color screams “summer pedi.” I painted my toes the day I got my Ipsy bag, and they look great. I’m going to try it for a mani soon too.

I received the exact same bag as Jen above. It was my first time back with Ipsy. I had the previous one for awhile (glambag?)….I can’t even remember anymore! I cancelled Birchbox a couple months back as I was disappointed in the shrinking sizes of everything, but I was missing my samples….. and decided to give Ipsy a try. I really like the Demeter roll-on and the humidity spray (probably because it is SOOOOOO hot and humid in CT right now!). I am ok with the Pop crayon and the sunscreen and I dislike the eyeshadow (seems cheap). So overall I am happy and for $10….who can really complain!

I got weather proof hair spray, the pop crayon in fushia flirt, sunscreen, Eye shadow and roll on perfume. I didn’t realize the sunscreen is tinted!! My favorite was the roll on perfume which definitely smelled like the beach.

This was my first ipsy bag and I was quite happy with it. I reveived the beach spray, the pop crayon in coral crush, the eyeshadow pallete, coola moisturizer and the salt air roll on. I really like the salt air perfune. The Demeter brand makes um sort of unique scents.. I saw they had one that is called Mildew and another called Dust but they had some better sounding ones like Thunderstorm.

I had gotten a sample of benetint from benefit in my bag this month and loved it! It was pretty small but benefit is a nice brand and for the type of product it is, a little goes a long way!

I am in love with the Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray Conditioning & Texturizing Spray and the Demeter
Salt Air Perfume Oil Roll On! I’m kind of meh about the POP Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon, and I haven’t tried the BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Sample or the COOLA Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented Moisturizer yet! I’ve only been with ipsy for the last three bags, but for the cost, their value is hard to beat!

I really love getting my ipsy package in the mail! Knowing it’s only $10 makes it that much more fun.

I didn’t get nail polish. I got a Demeter “Salt Air” roll-on perfume. And it really does smell like the beach! I love it!

The pink plastic makeup bag wasn’t my taste, but I’ll save it for one of my nieces.
