Barkbox Review - Monthly Subscription Box for Dogs - June 2013

Barkbox is such a wonderful subscription box. Our pup absolutely loves it! Each month they send you treats and toys for your dog, and lately I've been very impressed with the quality of the items.

Barkbox Review - Monthly Subscription Box for Dogs - June 2013

The Box: BarkBox

The Cost: $18 a month with 6 month subscription ($29 for month-to-month)

The Products: Treats and toys for your dog based on their size.

Check out all my BarkBox reviews.

Barkbox Review - Monthly Subscription Box for Dogs - June 2013

Heartland Premium Bone - Value $5

WholeLife Tail Mix Grilled Sirloin Burgers - Value $6

Our dog loved both of these treats! I really liked that the WholeLife treats had just one ingredient: 100% Beef Sirloin

Puptato Chips - Value $5

Calm K9 Nutri Wafers - Value $15

Bowser Beer - Value $4

Of course our dog didn't like the healthy treats! We'll see if he likes the Bowser Beer though!

Verdict: We paid $18 for this box and received $35 worth of top quality dog treats. I was surprised that there were no toys in this box (usually there is more of a mix of products), but no complaints from our dog! Did you dog like the June BarkBox?

I have found this company to be horrific to deal with. I was given a coupon code for a free box when I adopted a dog at a local adoption event. No one adopting was told that we had to commit to a long term agreement. Needless to say, we got our “free” box, and then our credit card started getting charged!

Customer service was horrible! No supervisor able to talk to me for 7 days! They are not able to show me the email in which I agreed to this – I got no confirmation email nor any of when boxes were being sent (which the website states that they do!).

To add insult to injury, I found the boxes unimpressive.

Me and my girlfriend’s little chihuahua puppy already polished off two of the huge bones (at least compared to her), goes nuts for the chips, and is slowly going through the Bowser Beer. For her size, she’ll be set in treats for a while, so I’m hoping for more toys next month. All and all, solid box :).

I’ve been reading your blog for awhile now and I had to comment on the Barkbox post! I actually kinda blame you for my obsession with monthly box subscriptions, but that’s okay because I love them. So let’s not say “blame;” instead, I’ll say thank you!

This was the second Barkbox I received for my pup and I got the same exact box as you (he’s a large Yellow Lab — he’s still a puppy though… a big baby) and he loved it. All full-size items it seemed like … but I think it’s possible that those signed up for the smaller-sized pup boxes may get sample-sized items. Or perhaps they have recently changed it (I’ve only been a subscriber these past two months).

I was hoping for more toys, but since the theme this month was Summer Picnics & BBQs I’m guessing that next month they might send out more toys. I’m hoping for a summery water toy we can play with!

So funny, Buddy loved his Heartland bone and he loved the burger treats, but he hated the PupTato chips. Of course. He hates the healthy treats too! I haven’t tried the Bowser Beer yet but I think I’m going to make him a “Pup Slushie” like they suggested on the card.

I just had to comment on this one since this is the only box I subscribe to that I can’t feature on my beauty blog! I love, love your site !!

I agree sometimes the sample sizes are small, but I like to try new things and if I received a full-sized product every time, I would be overrun with snacks! Then again, I’ve only ever received this as a Groupon special so maybe my view is distorted. My pup loved this month’s BarkBox – wished we coulda got a toy instead of another bone (still working on the one from last month) but he doesn’t ever mind!

I used to be a BarkBox subscriber and was disappointed that the treats were all small sample sizes. From your pictures, it looks like the Tail Mix is 1.2 ounces but I can’t tell the size/weight of the other items. Would you mind posting their weights?
