Hautelook Beauty Bag Review - Makeup & Beauty Samples

About 2 weeks ago Hautelook launched their Spring Beauty Bag - and of course I had to buy one! (FYI - this bag is no longer available but I will post again when the next bag launches!)

The Box: HauteLook Spring Beauty Bag

The Cost: $25 plus shipping

The Products: An exclusive mix of 12 makeup must-haves including items from these brands: Urban Decay, LORAC, Stila, NYX, and LA Fresh.

Laura Geller Mini Blush-n-Brighten in Berry - Value $15

Jessica Simpson Vintage Bloom Perfume - Sample

I am a big fan of Laura Geller Baked Blushes - they seem to have the perfect amount of shimmer, and the color always looks natural. I already have this one in full size (FYI - it's highly pigmented so a little goes a long way) - and this mini sized version will go in my travel makeup bag!

LA Fresh Wet Wipes (Variety 5 pack) - Value $2

I love LA Fresh and can never have enough of these wipes!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition - Travel Size Value  $8

Crown Brush Pro Blending Fluff - Value $14

Lorac Multiplex 3-D Lashes Mascara - FULL SIZE! Value $22

Stila All Over Shimmer - Sample packets

This mascara may be my favorite new discovery in this bag - it adds crazy length, and you can build volume with multiple applications without clumping. I'm wearing it right now and I love it!

Suki Skincare Exfoliate Cleanser - FULL SIZE! Value $32.95

I first sampled this cleanser through the April New Beauty Tube and fell in love with the fresh lemon scent and natural ingredients. I'm thrilled to have it in the full size version now - it's worth more than the cost of the bag alone!

NYX Cosmetics Lipstick in Shiva - FULL SIZE! Value $4

LORAC Eyeshadow in Celebutante - FULL SIZE! Value $19

I just went to look up the price for this eyeshadow when I realized this is not supposed to be a loose powder shadow - it must have gotten damaged in transit. I think I can make the loose powder work though!

The beauty bag also came with coupon codes to use at Laura Geller, LORAC, Suki, NYX, and Smile Sciences.

Verdict: I paid $25 for this beauty bag (plus I think $7.95 shipping), and I'm very pleased with the products (lots of full sized makeup) and the value. I also really like the makeup bag itself - it's the perfect size and the material is waterproof so you can just wipe off any makeup spills easily. Now I can't wait til the new Hautelook Beauty Bag! Did you grab this bag when it was available? What do you think of the products?

A lot of times my blushes, shadows, etc. arrive cracked or smashed up like yours did. Just as an FYI- if you want to fix it so it is solid again, if you just take the handle end of an eyeshadow brush or something and crush all of it up so it is all powder, and then add in some rubbing alcohol and mix it until smooth, and then smooth it back into the container and let it dry overnight, in the morning it will be like new! I recently broke what was left of my NARS Orgasm blush. As you know, that stuff is pricey and I didn’t want to throw it away but it was getting all over my makeup bag. So I googled and did the alcohol trick, and it was like it never happened! Nice to know, as often when you use a compact and it reaches the pan in the bottom, the outsides sometimes break into pieces. This trick fixes it to like-new condition, and as far as I can tell, does not alter the shade at all!!! 🙂

My Lorac shadow was broken as well as my Sukiface being pretty dried out, although it still works. I loved the bag, but it seems like they should have added a little padding, even my mascara box was crushed.

Hey everyone! I just received my order about twenty minutes ago and my Lorac eyeshadow also came in loose form! I actually stumbled upon this post when I was trying to figure out if it’s supposed to be a solid eyeshadow or a loose pigment. Turns out, it’s supposed to be solid and I confirmed that with customer service. Lady on the phone was so nice about it and offered me a 20% off back or to return the whole bag instead.

I purchased this one also after seeing your first post on it :). Glad I did! Well worth the money. I had a lot of fun trying on the make-up and loved all the products. The suki was amazing! My eye shadow also came “loose”. I definitely would not have known it wasn’t supposed to be this way, but it is still a pretty color either way.

My Lorac eyeshadow came in loose pigment form too! Not even 1 chunk in it! Weird!
