Birchbox February 2013 Review – Monthly Beauty and Makeup Subscription Service
I love these little Color Club minis - this is my fourth from Birchbox now! I like the Lancome eye makeup remover, but I have so many of them from beauty gift with purchase bags that I wasn't excited to see it in the box.
This is my favorite discovery in the box! It smells fantastic!
Verdict: I'm most excited about the cleansing body gel and the nail polish in this box. Overall the value was good too - I paid $10 and recieved over $20 worth of product. What did you think of this month's box?

I had subscribed to Birchbox for a few months the end of 2012. I kept hoping they would get better but it didn’t happen so I canceled. I got a bunch of perfume samples and not much else. I could have gotten those for free at a department store. I was continually disappointed in what came each month. I have a subscription to another $10 a month beauty box so I saw that it is possible to get good samples for $10 a month but Birchbox just isn’t the company to do that.

Birchbox samples are getting smaller each month. They are supposed to be ‘deluxe sizes’ but i always get the tiny foils. Any other boxes that I can try and worth the money? Thx.

I’m so jealous that you got the twist headband. It’s super adorable! I just posted the review of my February Birchbox on my website. I received some amazing beauty products this month.
I got the same exact box, except a maroon hair tie instead of blue. I’ve been pretty disappointed in my boxes for several months now and kept saying, “Oh, I’ll give them one more month to impress me”. This box ended it. My chocolate was entirely liquid, I used to use those hair bands on my daughter before she had hair (and I got about 50 of them for $25 on Etsy, all without the annoying knot. They don’t stay on me at all), and I’m just tired of getting bath products. I suppose I’ll try the makeup remover, but really, I mostly just use those Neutrogena cleansing cloths, which seem much simpler to me. I like the polish. And that has been my consistent problem. I like maybe one thing out of the box, if any. So, today, I cancelled. Oh well. Time to try a different subscription!

Interesting box! I have to say, I really dislike the way Birchbox sends out so many different boxes every month and then repeats the samples in future months. :/ I like the way they say they customize for each person, but I think they’d have a lot more success doing the Ipsy thing and sending everyone the same stuff.
In my box I got the same chocolate, a tiny sample of Couture La La (I have every other Juicy perfume and had never even heard of this so I was a little more excited about getting another tiny perfume sample), Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle (smells amazinggg but makes my hair greasy), Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm (the sample is really small (mine was mostly filled with air, but I think I like this), and that same nail polish. I’m really not into the color but I think it will be fun for St. Patty’s day.

Wow, I got a much different, much crappier box. Dr Jart Beauty Balm, Juicy Couture La la perfume sample (already have it from another subscription service), Lancôme mascara (so bummed because I have like 10 new mascaras from subscriptions – really need some remover and I like the Lancôme kind) and Ojon damage reverse finishing spray. And of course, a piece of chocolate. I would have loved the nail polish. ~sigh~ The bloggers always get the better boxes. 🙂

The bloggers do not get the better boxes, Birchbox has no way of knowing who a blogger is or isn’t. We pay the same for our boxes. It’s the luck of the draw sweetie! I have been with Birchbox for almost two years and while they use to be awesome they have went down hill, badly! I have received the worst boxes they have put together for about the last 6 months…and I am also a blogger. I got the mascara which I didn’t want…Would have loved the remover or one of the TIGI hair products, and then I got a freakin hairband, a Jouer tint which this is my third time getting from Birchbox, my 6th time getting from Sub Boxes all together, and then I got a piece of chocolate and some tiny little brightening cream which sucks! I have seen some amazing boxes this month but as usual…I didn’t get one. For some reason I just can’t bring myself to drop Birchbox…I have a feeling they are totally going to redeem themselves! Maybe it’s just wishful thinking..Anyways…Hope you start getting better boxes also!
