Birchbox Subscription Box Review – July 2012 (Box 1 of 2)

Confession: I have two Birchbox subscriptions. Why? Birchbox usually has about 30 varieties of each month's box, and I wanted to try more things! I've had my second subscription for over a year now and only received the same box once.

The Box: Birchbox

The Cost: $10 a month including free shipping

The Products: Deluxe and sometimes full size beauty and lifestyle items

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner in Black - FULL SIZE! Value $15

Off to a great start - this item alone is worth more than the cost of the box! It's in a very wearable color, and applies perfectly. So far, appears to be smudge-proof.

Birchbox ear buds - estimated value $5

Not bad - I like the fun summer colors, and it's good to always keep a spare pair of headphones in my purse.

Tea Forte Minteas in Reboot - Value $3

From Birchbox:  "all-natural and sugar-free, Minteas are infused with organic green tea, herbs, and fruit extracts to give you an instant antioxidant boost. Better yet, they freshen breath and taste delicious."

The Reboot version is supposed to give you extra energy. I'll try these this week and update on their effectiveness.

Alterna BAMBOO Color Hold + Fade Proof Finishing Gloss - .25 OZ Value $2.40

I received the same sample from my Sample Society box a few months ago and used it to the last drop. It's a great product and I'm happy to have it again.

Supergoop! SPF 30 City Sunscreen Serum packets - not sure of value

Would have preferred a larger size, but can never complain about SPF!

Harvey Prince Eau Flirt - not sure of size/value

I wasn't a fan of this scent. (I'm not crazy about most perfumes though).

Verdict: I LOVE BIRCHBOX! For $10 I got over $26 worth of products. Also, I'll review the products and earn 50 pts ($5) to use at Birchbox on full size products. (Want to learn how to earn points from leaving feedback? Check out this TUTORIAL)

So, in your opinion, how should one fill out the profile for Birchbox? Some have said to make myself younger.. early 20’s to get more makeup/fun stuff and less anti aging creams. I put that id splurge on polish, but 2 have told me that they filled theirs out the same and never recieved polish, when other friends have. What do you think?? Thanks!!!

Honestly, I’m not sure how much the profile matters. I logged in to both my accounts to see what I entered in my profiles, and realized I had never filled out my profile on my second account! (I have no difference in the types of samples).

If it helps at all this box is associated with my account that shows my age (27): https://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/2012/07/birchbox-subscription-box-review-july.html

And this is the box from the account with no profile:
