Which Jeans Should You Get The Men In Your Life For the Holidays: Levi’s vs. The Perfect Jean vs. Mugsy

Anyone else feel like men are impossible to shop for? Between my brothers, uncles, dad and boyfriend, I've got a ton of guys to shop for this holiday season - but I never actually know what they like and don't like.

Most of the men in my life could use a wardrobe upgrade, so I decided to buy them all new clothes this year (guys like gifts that are functional, right?). I ordered my boyfriend jeans from Levi's, The Perfect Jean, and Mugsy to see which brand he likes best.

Here's his honest review, but spoiler alert: my boyfriend had a very clear favorite. I've never seen a man so obsessed with a pair of jeans! Keep reading to find out why all the men in my life will be getting this perfect pair of jeans 👀.

If your man wants ultra-comfortable jeans that he can move around and still look damn fine in…The Perfect Jean

My man used to always complain that he'd wear uncomfortable clothes that made him feel like “his nuts were crushed,” because it was the only thing that made him look good. I wanted to gift him jeans that look good and feel good, and The Perfect Jean knocks it out of the park.

Their jeans are made from stretchy, special denim fabric that’s so much softer and more comfortable than traditional jeans. He felt so free from the very first day he put them on, unlike Levi’s that need to be broken in.

Mugsy is made with stretchy fabric, too, but I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that TPJ is smooth like butter 🧈—they feel like jeans, but are as comfortable as sweatpants. My boyfriend literally can't stop wearing them – they’re that soft and comfy.

If you’re not sure what size to get for your man…The Perfect Jean

I had no idea what size pants my man wears, but The Perfect Jean has a super handy size guide to help you find the perfect fit. But if you don’t get it right on your first try, just exchange them for free! The Perfect Jean offers free shipping, returns, and exchanges.

The Perfect Jean also offers a jean for every guy: 6 different fits, waist sizes from 26-50, length sizes from 26-38, and two fabric options: OG Stretch and Premium 99% Cotton. Bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and so should your jeans!

If your man cares about style…The Perfect Jean

The Perfect Jean also has 18 different colors (they call them washes). My boyfriend's favorites are Bandit (Black) and Knight (Dark Blue), but if lighter washes are your style, they’ve got those too. My boyfriend had never gotten compliments on his fits before…but when he started wearing TPJ, every one of his closest friends asked him what brand they were—not kidding!

While Levi’s has some decent variety, they didn’t have his size in his favorite wash, which was super disappointing. I felt like his Levi’s didn’t mold to his body type, and even their slimmest fit looked baggy. Mugsy, while pretty comfortable, only offers one fit.

If you’re balling on a budget…The Perfect Jean and Levi’s tie

Let’s talk shmoney–I live in Los Angeles, and when a basic lunch costs you $20+, you’re not trying to spend an arm and a leg on gifts. A good pair of jeans will run you some coin, but if your pockets are tight or you just like value (who doesn’t), The Perfect Jean and Levi’s are the way to go.

Levi’s jeans run around $60-$80, while The Perfect Jean’s prices are between $79.99-$89.99. Mugsy comes in at the highest price point, starting at around $118 a pair. TPJ sweetens the deal with 15% off your first order (it’s a no-brainer in my book).

If you’re looking for jeans that last…The Perfect Jean

When it comes to quality, TPJ is the real deal. These jeans are made with some kind of magic that makes them age like fine wine (I hear they use some kind of special sewing machines and don’t skimp on hardware like other popular jeans 😉).

Levi’s and Mugsy jeans tend to fade, pill, and lose their shape over time. It sucks to spend so much money on jeans that don’t even last a few washes–that’s a dealbreaker in my book. I like that my TPJ Bandit and Knight jeans are a gift that will last and they still look and feel just as good as when he first started wearing them.

And the winner is…The Perfect Jean

It can’t be a coincidence that these perfect jeans are actually called The Perfect Jean, can it? Plus, there’s no risk in ordering since their shipping, returns, and exchanges are all FREE! Don’t just take my word for it, though. They have over 20,000 5-star reviews ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, so you can trust that these jeans live up to their name!
