Trifecta Vs. Factor_: Which One Wins Mealtime?

I’m sure you know the routine. I want to keep a healthy diet, but life gets in the way. Between working full-time and being a parent, it’s been hard to find the time. In turn, I find myself living off of my kid’s leftovers… not ideal.

I realized I needed a meal delivery service that was healthy, convenient, and tasted great. I decided to try out Trifecta and Factor_, two meal plans that appeared to be aligned with my healthy eating goals. Spoiler alert: only one of them ticked all of my boxes.

The one that tasted amazing & left me satisfied… Trifecta

As a self-proclaimed foodie, taste is the single most important element of any food delivery I could order. I’ve tried meal plans in the past that packed a lot of options, but left much to be desired in flavor. When my Trifecta meals arrived, I was actually psyched to eat them. There are no words to describe how delicious their Chicken Bacon Primavera is. This keto meal is prepared with Parmesan cheese and green beans, and I could eat it all. Day. Long. I also have to think the Tomatillo Turkey Casserole must be someone’s grandma’s secret recipe over at Trifecta, because it is so flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, it’s like it was home cooked from my kitchen.

I found my Factor_ meals to be fine. They weren’t overly saucy, and tasted good enough, but nothing really stood out to me in a way where I was really excited to eat it. Some of the veggies I tried bordered on bland, and I didn’t quite wipe my plate clean the way I did with Trifecta.

The one that let me choose my own food adventure… Trifecta

Something that really stood out to me with Trifecta is that I could customize my diet to suit my lifestyle. With meal plans catering to clean eating, paleo, keto, and plant-based diets, plus à la carte options, we were off to a great start. From there, I had the freedom to pick and choose my meals as they met my calorie and macro goals. For the indecisive, Trifecta also has the option for a nutritionist expert chef to select on your behalf.

Factor_ let me choose my meals as well, but I found it a little limiting because they don’t have a meal prep option with standalone proteins and sides.

The one that came in at a lower price point… Factor_

Naturally, cost matters, and I needed to ensure my plan worked with my budget. Depending on the meal plan you choose, Trifecta starts at $104.93/week for 7 entrees (so $14.99/meal). Factor_ comes in slightly cheaper, starting at $80.94/week for 6 meals (or $13.49 meal).

I didn’t find the price disparity to be prohibitive, and both services felt accessible. If I’m judging solely on cost, Factor_ is the less expensive option, but in terms of value, I found I got more for my money with Trifecta. The taste, convenience, and flexibility made for a premium experience that was worth a little extra investment.

The one that gave me a well-rounded diet & lifestyle support… Trifecta

Not only does Trifecta have meal options that made my meals feel like they were really tailored to me, but they have nutrition coaches I can connect with for advice around my diet, nutrition, and fitness goals. The Trifecta app is also really impressive; within it, I’m able to log my meals and workouts, connect with the Trifecta community, manage my deliveries, access free nutrition coaching, and more.

Factor_ offers a complimentary 20-minute nutritionist consultation at sign up, but lacks the free ongoing support I get with Trifecta.

The one that ultimately wins my vote… Trifecta

At the end of the day, I was looking for a meal plan that saved me time, supported a healthy lifestyle, and tasted great. Trifecta did all of these things and more. With 100+ heat-and-eat meals made with only premium, non-GMO ingredients, Trifecta was an easy win in my book. Factor_ is by no means a bad option, and it certainly comes out cheaper, but having lived both, I have no doubts about which one I’ll be eating for dinner tonight.
