Sunday Citizen vs. Cozy Earth: Which Luxury Bedding Feels Like Sleeping on a Cloud?

Let’s start with this: our dog is a Coton du Tulear–a breed that has the french word for cotton in its name. His coat is off the charts soft and fluffy. So you have to know right there that softness is a big draw for me. I can’t stand sheets and blankets that feel crisp or scratchy in any way.

I’ve been in the market for bedding that rivals my dog’s coat in softness recently, and I’ve narrowed it down to two luxury brands known for plush, comfortable materials: Sunday Citizen and Cozy Earth.

Read on to see which brand I’ll be making my bed with every morning:

If a timeless, neat look is what you’re after… Sunday Citizen

Yes, I know it’s a thing; that rumpled “I didn’t make my bed” look. Just like I didn’t rock the grunge trend in the 90s when I worked for Vogue, I don’t want my bed to look like I just rolled out of it in the morning. I want to come home to a bed at the end of the day that looks fresh and inviting.

Sunday Citizen’s Snug fabric keeps its shape beautifully, so while my bedding is soft, it doesn’t look like a mushy jumble of pillows and blankets.

Their clever and cozy all-in-one bed cover eliminates the need for a duvet, duvet insert, and top sheet which makes it a breeze to make the bed in the morning. Their shams and throw pillows are distinct, and really frame the bed.

If sustainability is important to you… both companies are great

Cozy Earth is committed to ethical manufacturing and eco-friendly materials, like bamboo viscose. Sunday Citizen makes its comforters from recycled plastic bottles which helps to save our oceans, and all of their packaging is made from recycled materials.

It makes me really happy to see companies doing their part to save our planet.

If color and design is a factor… Sunday Citizen

Happy is the word that comes to mind when I look at all the bedding choices offered by Sunday Citizen. They have a lot of great colors and patterns for their throw pillows and blankets. They have braided and waffle fabrics, and even some pom poms on their throws.

Cozy Earth offers mostly a subdued and neutral palette, which some people might like, but I prefer more options.

If ease of care is important to you… Sunday Citizen

One thing that drives me crazy is when bedding looks great the first time you take it out of the package, but as soon as you wash it once, you never achieve that look again.

Sunday Citizen’s miracle Snug fabric is super easy to care for, and keeps its shape after washing and drying it. Their care process is super simple, and the fabric retains its shape and softness with every single wash.

And the winner is… Sunday Citizen

“Sweet dreams (are made of this)” is a favorite song of mine and Sunday Citizen hits every note.  Their soft and cozy fabrics never make me hot or sweaty.  It’s super easy to care for, and with so many beautiful fabric choices, I can create the bed of my dreams.

Sunday Citizen wins for me!
