Solawave vs. Medicube: Which Red Light Tool Delivers Real Results?

I am always on the hunt for skincare that promises to reduce the appearance of my fine lines and boost my glow. Recently, I had the chance to test two celebrity-endorsed products: the Solawave's new Wrinkle Retreat Light Therapy Mask and Medicube’s Age-R Booster Pro.

Super curious by their promises of radiant skin, I decided to put both to the test… Here’s my breakdown and ultimate winner:

If Want The Best Price... Solawave is the Clear Winner

I’m always on the hunt for a great value, and Solawave delivers. Priced at $349, it’s a solid investment in your skin’s future. It should last for years and years, and given that ONE in-clinic red light therapy treatment can cost up to $200... Solawave will have paid for itself in just a few uses!

Plus, the 60-day money back guarantee and free shipping mean it’s practically risk-free.

On the flip side, Medicube’s Age-R Booster Pro comes with a heftier price tag of $480. Ouch.

If You Want Effectiveness... Solawave is the Real MVP

Let’s talk science for a sec. Solawave’s Wrinkle Retreat Light Therapy Mask uses near-infrared light (830nm) and red light therapy (630nm). These wavelengths are clinically proven to boost collagen, reduce wrinkles, and give your skin that coveted glow.

Medicube’s device only uses red light at 622nm, which doesn’t go as deep. And after years of trying new skincare products, I can confirm – depth matters. After testing both products, my skin looked smoother and more radiant after using Solawave.

If You Want Tried and True... Solawave takes the cake

Medicube’s device has been on the market since early this year, and as of writing, the average reviews are 3.7 on Amazon. Users complained the device stopped working after a few uses.

Solawave’s mask on the other hand has 4.8/5 stars. One user complained that the mask didn’t fit the face well, but on the contrary, this is probably the best fitting mask I’ve tried. It’s actually made with a flexible silicone material that is designed to perfectly contour your face.

If You Want Ease of Use... Solawave is Your BFF

For me, the ideal skincare device is simple. I found that with Solawave’s mask, all I had to do was place the mask over my face, secure the strap, press the power button, and let it work its magic. It's hands-free, hassle-free, and even shuts off automatically after the treatment session is complete.

For Medicube’s Age-R Booster Pro, you need a conductive gel, then you have to program the treatment, check the app, and do a bunch of other steps. It was just a lot more brainwork.

If You Want Multi-Purpose... Medicube prevails

If you’re looking for versatility, Medicube’s Age-R Booster Pro is like the Swiss Army knife of skincare devices. It offers six different technologies—Electroporation, Microcurrent, EMS, Electric needles, LED, and Sonic vibration. Each mode targets a different skin issue, from anti-aging to firming and better product absorption.

That said, I wasn’t looking for a product with a variety of functions. Using each mode separately requires lots of patience. You need to be ready to commit 45+ minutes, which also means not being able to text, email, or work during for 45 mins. This, to be honest, is why I stopped using mine after the first 2 weeks.

If You Want Portable... It’s a Tie!

Good news for jet-setters: both devices are super portable. Solawave’s mask is made from flexible, medical-grade silicone that molds to your face. It’s lightweight, rechargeable, and comes with a handheld controller. Easy peasy.

Medicube’s Age-R Booster Pro is also compact and travel-friendly. The catch? You’ll need to pack that conductive gel. So, it’s a bit of a toss-up here.

My Pick For The Season: Solawave 💎

After putting both of these beauty gadgets to the test, I’ve got to hand it to the Solawave Wrinkle Retreat Light Therapy Mask. Its value and effectiveness make it a clear winner. My skin has never looked better, and I’m confident you’ll love it too.
