Myth or Magic: I Tried This Skincare Wand to Reduce the Appearance of My Acne – Here’s What Happened

I’ve been seeing the SolaWave wand pop up all over my social media lately - and I can’t lie, it has had me intrigued! As an esthetician, I’m always on the lookout for skincare products to test out for myself and to recommend to clients. Can a seemingly simple tiny, travel-friendly wand really make such a difference in skin, in as little as five minutes a day? Seems like a myth, but I had to get my hands on one and try it for myself.

I personally struggle with hormonal acne around my jawline, for some reason, especially on the left side. I’ve got combination skin and I’ve started to see some fine lines appear on my forehead, nasal labial folds, and around my eyes. Excited to test this out and see what kind of improvements I can notice over the next few weeks.

How does SolaWave Work?

So what is in this portable device that can help calm acne, among its countless other benefits? SolaWave is a 4-in-1 skincare tool that combines light therapy, microcurrent, therapeutic warmth, and vibrating massage to reduce inflammation and hyperpigmentation, prevent future breakouts, and increase circulation and blood flow. It’s also supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and puffiness.

Okay okay, so all of that information is great, but does it actually DELIVER?

My SolaWave Experience

The SolaWave wand arrived at my doorstep along with the Renew Complex Activating Serum. I ordered the color Ombre which I think is so cute! The Renew Complex serum smells amazing and refreshing - kind of like earl grey tea and a little floral.

Every day, I’ve been applying the serum to sections of my face at a time and focusing the wand around there until I feel it start to get tacky, then I move on to another section - apply the serum, and go over with the wand. It’s a very relaxing, simple process and it’s easy to get carried away with! The vibration is just the right amount to be relaxing and non-irritating, and the warmth feels absolutely amazing.

Better Skin in 2 Weeks

Now, take a look at my before and after from just two weeks of daily use!

You can see how much calmer my acne is, and my face, neck, and shoulders are definitely less puffy, leaving my collar bones more defined. I still definitely have leftover acne scarring, but I’m confident that with time and consistent use, those will also fade away. Skin takes approximately 28 days to fully renew itself and to get full results with any new skincare routine, so the fact that I’ve seen such brilliant results in 2 weeks makes me excited to continue!

Final Thoughts

Many mighty things come in small packages, and SolaWave is no different. It’s definitely worth the $150 price tag, as it will replace lots of professional facials. This is by far the easiest and most rewarding skincare device I’ve tried (and as an esthetician, I’ve tried a LOT.)

So is the hype around the SolaWave skincare wand all a myth or magic? I’m happy to say that it’s very magical.
