My Inner Child Is Freaking Out Over This New Reimagined ‘90s Lunch

In the hopes and dreams department, I’m a homesteader with a thriving sourdough starter. But there’s still room in there for my reality of rippled chips and iced coffee that I sure didn’t brew. It’s about balance.

And “balance” is just the word I’d use to describe Little Spoon’s new Lunchers. Guys, I’m exploding with '90s nostalgia over these premade, sectioned lunch packs that are so similar to what we were raised on… but better in every way.

Here’s why I’m beyond thrilled that I get to pack my kids’ lunches with Lunchers:

DIY mini pizzas, welcome back

Oh, the joy of every ingredient in its own organized compartment. Of squeezing the sauce. Of sprinkling the cheese. I was raised on building my own tiny pizzas at the lunch table, and now I get to pass this passion down to my own kids.

Except, the Little Spoon version is made with high-quality ingredients that were sourced from trusted suppliers and farmers. Their version isn’t loaded up with GMOs - no way. Theirs is even spread with marinara sauce that has hidden apple, zucchini, spinach, and carrots in there. I’m dizzy!

The improvements go on—our kids get a tiny blue spoon to use, rather than having to just, you know, rub the edge of the sauce package along your meal. Mind-blowing. And they even get little chocolate treats that are naturally colored from veggies like spirulina and beets. Now that’s how it’s done.

We’re dunking, and we’re doing it proudly

I did eat more than just mini pizzas for lunch as a kid, I swear. I was a PB&J kid a lot of the time, although honestly, I had feedback. It could’ve been more exciting. Little Spoon heard my pleas, from all the way back in ancient times. Their version of the classic is the PB Jammies with mini whole grain bread slices that your kiddo can spread with palm-oil-free PB and organic strawberry jelly. The best part? Sprinkles on top. Mic drop.

The balanced, nutritious versions of kid-approved meals extend to Brunch Lunch, which includes chicken maple sausage, an organic smoothie bowl (bright pink!) with granola for some wholesome sweetness and crunch, and a zucchini muffin for some veggies my littles don’t mind consuming one bit.

And because we’re a family of individuals who were born with the dunking motion passed down through their genes, our favorite Luncher is the Chicken Dunkers. Antibiotic-free chicken formed into nuggets with some superfoods packed in, too. Pizza-seasoned pretzels. Yogurt-based ranch that welcomes both in for a dunk. And, of course, a treat: a brownie sweetened by applesauce.

All the details have been considered

I obviously love these concepts, and I’m starstruck by the enhancements they’ve received. But now I need to point out some hard facts that show why as a mama, I’m all-in on what otherwise seems like regular old “kid food.”

Each Lunchers meal contains over 10g of protein—that’s nearly the daily requirement for a toddler! And as I’ve already celebrated, they’re all also packed with multiple veggies snuck in there so the kids gobble without hesitation.

They fit perfectly in a lunchbox and are ready to go right from the fridge. They’re buying moms everywhere time in the mornings!

Little Spoon Lunchers for the win

When our box of Lunchers arrives on our doorstep, we pop it all in the fridge and know it’ll be good for up to 14 days—as if it could last that long without being devoured! These meals are made for kids ages 4-6 with some wiggle room (and you know I’ll be taking liberties here 😉) .
