POV: You’re a fitness addict stuck in a studio apartment. You can only have 1 piece of fitness equipment. Which do you choose as your fitness gift this holiday?

If you value a diverse range of workouts to choose from… lululemon Studio

lululemon Studio has an impressive variety of classes -- over 50 genres to choose from. If you’re someone that used to bounce around the city from barre to boxing classes, like I used to, you can recreate the class experience from the comfort of your home during the festive season. lululemon Studio's classes range from 5-60 minutes across all difficulty levels, and the class library has over 10,000 workouts to choose from (if you don’t want to take a live class). Another unique feature of lululemon Studio’s Mirror is the ability to do personal training for $40/session. I live for my weekly barre training sessions with Cameron - he manages to make my arms and abs burn more in 30 minutes than they ever did in the hour long barre classes I used to go to.

If you’re looking to build muscle or a long, lean body… lululemon Studio

Not only does lululemon Studio have literally thousands of strength training and toning workouts to choose from, they also have new “connected” weights (ranging from 1-35 lbs and $50-$200). You may be wondering, what are connected weights and how will they help me achieve my New Year’s resolution? These weights can track your reps, help correct your form, and recommend the appropriate amount of weight for you to use for each move. Spoiler alert: it turns out I could lift A LOT more weight than I thought I could. If you want a class with lighter weights that is more lengthening, lululemon Studio also has a great selection of pilates and barre classes. For all of the classes on The Mirror, you can see the moves you’ll be doing before you actually start the workout, so you’ll know what you’re getting yourself into.

If you are addicted to cardio… Peloton

Peloton has over 10,000 spinning workouts alone to choose from. Want to take a 20 minute tabata ride? You can do that. Prefer a 90 minute endurance ride? No problem (but please don't sign me up for this). Peloton has over 10 types of spin workouts to choose from, taught by 25 different instructors, with classes ranging from 5-90 minutes in length, so I never get bored doing the same workout every day. Plus, the low impact nature of spinning is great for your body and allows you to do it day-in and day-out (as someone that has had knee surgery before, this matters to me).

If you want to pick your own music… lululemon Studio

While lululemon Studio’s classes do come with recommended playlists from the instructor, you have the option of connecting your Apple Music to select your own pump-up music. I used to be a fitness instructor in a past life, so I like that I can re-use my old playlists I spent hours working on and I know pump me up.

If you love themed classes… Peloton

Peloton’s classes all come with pre-set playlists, which you can view ahead of time. You can choose classes by type of music (EDM, country, oldies, etc.) or see all theme rides. Peloton has had theme classes ranging from Beyonce to Broadway and Whitney Houston to the Spice Girls. The Taylor Swift and Britney Spears classes were my personal favorites.

If you want more personalization… lululemon Studio

lululemon Studio personalizes your experience in many ways, from music, to class recommendations, to personal training. I like the weekly drop of class recommendations I get every Monday (based on my previous class history and personal goals) - it's easy to swipe right on them and add them to my bookmarked classes, so I can find them again at any time. The Mirror also has new curated programs that launch every week to help you further reach your holiday goals, whether it is strength training, HIIT, or dance cardio. Make things really personal with a personal training session for $40/session.

If size matters… lululemon Studio

The Mirror takes up no space in any apartment. In fact, it actually can serve double purpose as a full-length mirror. You’ll only need floor space in front of it to complete your workout, so you don’t have to worry about a bulky piece of fitness equipment taking up valuable gift-wrapping space!
