I'm the kind of guy who likes to get out of the house often.
Coffee shops, nearby beaches, book stores and downtown food joints are just a few of my main stops. And exploring the city while I get to these destinations is half the fun, which is why I needed an eBike.
Some of my buddies are already wheeled up with ebikes, and through their research I knew a little about Lectric’s XPress 750 High-Step eBike and Aventon’s Pace. But their research isn’t my research, so I dug in myself to see which bike would be my new steed. Here’s what I found:
The more affordable ebike…Lectric

I know, I know. Price isn’t the chillest place to start, but let’s just be upfront. The Lectric XPress starts at $1,299. The Aventon Pace, on the other hand, costs $1,799. Let’s face it, that’s a pretty significant difference.
We know off the bat that these are great ebikes, but the Lectric saves me $500 to put toward more adventures without sacrificing quality.
The quality ebike that provides better control…Lectric

When you hop on these bikes and take them around the block, it’s obvious the Lectric has the better maneuverability and handling.
The Lectric’s high-step top tube provides a sturdier build that affords me more control even in rocky construction zones or quick dips onto the trail if that’s where the journey leads. Its TC•Eighty rated suspension front fork makes for the smoothest ride imaginable.
The Aventon, on the other hand, has okay control but doesn’t ride quite as smooth. For an easier ride, I think Lectric’s the better option.
The ebike that looks like an ebike…Aventon
It’s nice to have a little help getting to dinner dates or work quicker (and less sweaty), but I’m also not trying to be the guy looking like he’s taking a beach cruiser around town.
If you want an ebike that screams "I'm an ebike!", Aventon is for you – thanks to its larger wheels and traditional silhouette. I wanted a bike with a setup that would feel like a seamless transition from my regular mountain bike, and the Lectric XPress 750 is it for me.
The ebike with quicker acceleration…Lectric

I’ve never been a gearhead, but all of a sudden I’m obsessing over torque, speed, and acceleration.
Not only is the Lectric XPress 750 a faster bike in general, it has a 750W motor (or up to 1310W at its peak) combined with a proprietary Stealth M24 technology to make for a 400% quieter motor. It has five levels of pedal assist that are easily adjusted with a thumb throttle. As for safety, the Xpress’s 48V, 14Ah battery is certified to UL 2849 and comes with a lithium-ion battery certified to UL 2271.
The Aventon is a great commuter bike, albeit with less motor power (500W) and one fewer levels of pedal assist for a slightly less customizable ride. The difference in motor power may seem insignificant, but it makes a big difference and, ultimately, makes the ride less enjoyable for me.
The ebike you can ride the moment it arrives…Lectric
The Aventon Pace comes with detailed instructions for how to assemble, and you can even find super helpful videos online. But nothing beats a fully assembled ebike on your doorstep, and Lectric is at your service. With Lectric, all you have to do is attach the front tire, and you’re ready to ride. I love having an easy path from ordering my ebike to hitting the road.
Spending more time with assembly isn’t terrible, but it isn’t exactly what you want when you’re spending that much money on a bike. And the convenience Lectric provides makes me feel like I’m getting more bang for my buck.
I’m riding with Lectric, and I wouldn’t have it any other way

Given the price, heightened control, sleek look, and speed, the Lectric XPress 750 was an easy choice, and that’s not even mentioning the aesthetic color display that gives clear and concise information about your ride.
So, if you’re looking for an ebike for adventures, commutes, and regular old rides, you should be looking at Lectric.
