I’ve Tried A Lot of Prepared Meal Services But None of Them Ever Wowed Me—Until Now

Subscription meal services sound like every busy student’s dream, right? I thought so, too, but not all meal subscriptions are created equal. Insert the name of a meal subscription, meal kit, or meal whatcha-ma-call-it here and I’ve probably already tried it, and honestly, most of them have been underwhelming.

I found that even if a meal service claimed to solve all of my problems, a lot of the meals weren’t healthy, took too much time to prepare, didn’t have options that catered to my diet, or simply didn’t taste very good! That is, until Eat Clean:

Why I decided to try Eat Clean

What ultimately led me to try Eat Clean was their focus on nutrition and convenience—rare in the meal service world. Wellness is extremely important to me, and though I don’t always have the time (or patience!) to cook a meal from scratch, I still want a meal service that provides the same balanced, nutritious meals that I might prepare for myself, given time.

Here’s why Eat Clean really wowed me:

Meals are healthy, balanced and NEVER frozen

All of the ingredients and nutrition facts are readily available on the Eat Clean website, and the meals are fresh, absolutely never frozen, and chef-cooked with premium, natural ingredients each week. Having Eat Clean meals in my fridge has cleared up so much space in my brain because I no longer have to think about whether what I’m eating is healthy—Eat Clean does all the work for me.

Fast meal prep

My schedule as a PhD student is chaotic, and I rarely have time to meal prep. Eat Clean’s meals are already fully cooked and take about 3 minutes in the microwave to heat up. This means I can roll out of bed half asleep, pop it in the microwave, and it’s ready before I’m even done making my coffee.

Flexible meal plans for all, including dietary restrictions

Although I don’t currently follow any particular diet, I try to eat balanced meals that are mostly plant-based. One of my favorite things about Eat Clean is that they offer meals catered to just about everyone, including those following keto, paleo, or plant-based diets. So, if ever I decide to permanently switch to plant-based, I know it’ll be an incredibly easy adjustment with Eat Clean.

Eat Clean’s system also allows you to choose what meals you want and how many meals you want each week, which is super convenient for on-to-go!

The food actually tastes great!

And last but definitely not least, Eat Clean’s meals are delicious. Healthy food often gets a bad rap for being boring and flavorless (looking at you salads I used to make in college 👀), but after trying 10 different Eat Clean meals, I can wholeheartedly say that I enjoyed it all.

My favorites were their Garlic Parmesan Chicken with Spanish Rice and Jambalaya with Cauliflower Rice—so yummy!

Although I was a little skeptical at first, Eat Clean’s healthy and easy-to-prepare meals definitely proved me wrong. Their meal service would be perfect for anyone who really prioritizes their health and well-being but lacks the time needed to prepare those high quality, nutritious meals they crave.
