I Tried Who Gives A Crap After Reading Their NYT Wirecutter Review. Here Are My Honest Thoughts After Trying It.

I don't usually look to The New York Times for toilet paper recommendations, but when I heard that Who Gives A Crap had been featured by NYT Wirecutter, I was intrigued.

Between the Wirecutter attention, thousands of five-star customer reviews, and people insisting they'd never go back to ordinary toilet paper, I figured there had to be something special about these rolls.

So I finally decided to see what all the hype was about.

And after trying Who Gives A Crap's bamboo toilet paper for myself, I understand why it's getting so much attention.

The Biggest Surprise? You Could Save $135 a Year on Toilet Paper

I'll admit, I expected bamboo toilet paper to cost more. But Who Gives A Crap's mega rolls actually offer surprisingly good value.

Because the rolls last longer, I wasn't replacing them nearly as often. After six months, I'd only gone through about half of my 48-roll box, putting my estimated annual toilet paper spending at around $65.

Considering the estimated average person spends about $200 a year on toilet paper, that's potentially $135 in annual savings.

In this economy? I'll take it.

And since Who Gives A Crap's rolls are delivered straight to your door, there's also one less bulky household essential to remember at the grocery store.

The 3-Ply Bamboo Rolls Actually Live Up to the Hype

Of course, a good deal means nothing if the toilet paper isn't comfortable.

Who Gives A Crap describes its bamboo rolls as extra-soft, 3-ply toilet paper, and after trying them, I can see the appeal.

They're soft, strong, and designed to be gentle on sensitive skin. But what impressed me just as much was the thought that goes into making them.

Who Gives A Crap's bamboo toilet paper has no PFAS added, no inks or dyes, and no fragrances. It's also hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested.

Plus, the rolls come individually wrapped in colorful, playful designs that make even a spare roll look surprisingly cute sitting in your bathroom.

Who knew toilet paper could double as decor?

It's a Small Swap That Makes a Bigger Difference

Beyond the savings and softness, one of the biggest reasons I wanted to try Who Gives A Crap was its commitment to sustainability.

Traditional toilet paper production contributes to deforestation, with an estimated one million trees cut down every day to make conventional toilet paper.

Who Gives A Crap takes a different approach by making its bamboo rolls from a fast-growing, renewable material instead of virgin tree fibers.

And here's another reason to appreciate the brand: Who Gives A Crap donates 50% of its profits to help improve access to clean water and toilets around the world.

So you're not just restocking a bathroom essential. You're also supporting a company that's working to make a difference.

My Verdict: I Understand Why Who Gives A Crap Is Getting So Much Attention

Between the thousands of positive customer reviews and the attention from NYT Wirecutter, I went into this expecting a pretty impressive roll of toilet paper.

And Who Gives A Crap delivered.

The bamboo rolls are soft, strong, thoughtfully made, and can help cut down on annual toilet paper spending. Add in the colorful packaging, convenient delivery, and the brand's commitment to donating 50% of profits, and it's easy to see why so many people are making the switch.

If you're going to buy toilet paper anyway, Who Gives A Crap is one everyday upgrade worth considering.

Turns out, the hype isn't just a load of crap.
