My husband and I just bought our first home a year ago, and one thing I knew I wanted was for our bedroom to be a comfortable oasis. While I was searching for inspiration, this bedding was all over my FYP on TikTok–users were claiming left and right how comfortable Sunday Citizen was. Picturing our bedroom as a place we could watch movies in and unwind with our daughter on the weekends, I decided to see for myself if the hype was real. I’m totally in love–and here’s why.
1). It’s by far the softest bedding I’ve ever owned
I once read that the average American spends around 36 years in bed–so I’m always on the hunt for the best bedding! And let me tell you: this bedding is so. Incredibly. Soft. The founders launched Sunday Citizen after the blanket they designed for hotels became super popular, so the softness I’m talking about is the kind you know and love when you snuggle into a sumptuous hotel bed.
2). It’s affordable yet luxurious
I’ve tried all kinds of bedding, just like Goldilocks and the three bears. I’ve tried the cheap bedding with amazing reviews, and I’ve also tried $600 duvet and down comforter combinations. I have to say, the Snug Stitch Comforter beats them all. It’s half the cost of the aforementioned expensive option, and it takes away the need for your duvet, duvet cover and top sheet. I love that I’m making a sustainable purchase, too: the comforter is made from bamboo viscose (which is highly regenerative), and has a filling made entirely of recycled plastic (!). For this price and feel, I’ll be buying one of each color for all my bedrooms.
3) It keeps us cozy, never sweaty
My husband and I are both hot sleepers, so Sunday Citizen’s bedding was a huge win for us there. The top is snug and fluffy, and the underside has minimal stitching, so it feels like a cool flat sheet. Because it’s reversible, it’s absolutely perfect for year-round comfort. We’re spending more time in bed watching movies and cuddling with our daughter on the weekends, and it’s all thanks to Sunday Citizen.
4) It’s highly durable and machine-washable
Another bonus as a mom of a toddler who loves white bedding is that it's completely machine washable. I absolutely love the clean look of crisp whites, but my toddler isn’t as focused on this! Since the bedding will inevitably see a stain from time to time, I love that the Snug Stitch Comforter is highly durable, low maintenance, and can stick out the washer and dryer with no problems.
Does Sunday Citizen live up to the hype?
Overall, I’m extremely impressed with Sunday Citizen and the quality of the bedding I received. Being that I work from home, I can work anywhere and I think I may have found my new favorite place in the house. The only thing I don’t like is myself, for not outfitting all the beds in the house, plus our couch. I will definitely be getting more Sunday Citizen items, especially these memory foam throw pillows–they are to die for and they’re my favorite thing to take a quick nap on. TikTok isn‘t wrong–Sunday Citizen 100% lives up to the hype!
