I Tested the NOBL vs. Away Carry-On: Here’s Which One Elevated My Travel Experience

Let’s be honest. Away has been the “cool girl” of travel gear for a while now. You’ve seen it in airports, IG stories, YouTube vlogs. I even used to think that if I just had their suitcase, I’d instantly feel more put-together while jetting off for content trips or weekend getaways.

When I was in the market for new luggage, Away seemed like the obvious choice. It had that sleek, minimalist look that everyone was raving about, and I figured it would be the perfect fit for my travel needs.

But then, I started noticing NOBL popping up more and more. It seemed like everywhere I turned, people were talking about it. Curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to try both brands side by side to see which one truly lived up to the hype. Here’s what happened:

For those type-A people who love to stay organized… NOBL

The first thing I noticed? NOBL's suitcase is not just a pretty shell. It’s smart. Like, it actually thinks ahead for you.

While Away gives you a big open space and says, “good luck,” NOBL gives you built-in compartments for everything — skincare, tech, snacks, chargers, supplements, even a waterproof section for your toiletries and and zipperless laptop access (up to 16") — and that’s just the front pocket.. No more digging for packing cubes or cramming five pouches into your suitcase just to stay organized.

For those who are hard on their luggage… NOBL

I baby my Away carry-on, but even then, the scratches came fast, and the zippers gave me a scare when I tried to cram in last-minute buys. Meanwhile, I’ve tossed NOBL through overhead bins, cobblestone streets, train stations, and under buses, and it still looks like I just unboxed it.

That’s because NOBL is made of durable polycarbonate, ballistic nylon, and an aluminum frame. It’s built to last no matter how hard you handle it.

For those who don’t want to break the bank… Tie

When it comes to pricing, there’s not a huge difference between the Away Carry-On Pro and the NOBL All-in-One Carry-On—Away’s is $275, while NOBL comes in at $279 (with 46% off, by the way). For just a few bucks more, though, NOBL really steps up the game. Sure, Away’s luggage looks great, but NOBL gives you those extra thoughtful details—like built-in USB ports, waterproof pockets, and a super durable build with materials like polycarbonate and ballistic nylon.

For those who care about aesthetics and functionality… NOBL

Away’s minimalist design, smooth wheels, and functional layout have earned its reputation. It’s a solid choice if you like to pack your way. But for me, it wasn’t functional. I always had to lay the whole suitcase flat to grab anything, which was a hassle in cramped spaces like Airbnb bathrooms or on flights. Plus, there’s no exterior access, so pulling out your laptop at TSA is a whole ordeal.

NOBL, on the other hand, is designed for easy access and has silent 360° spinner wheels. The top opening, smooth zippers, and grab-and-go setup feel like they were made by someone who actually travels, not just for looks. And it’s pretty… like really pretty.

Final Verdict: I’m keeping the NOBL and sending the Away… well, away

So, who wins? Here’s how I see it: Away is perfect if you’re all about minimalism or need something sleek for short trips. But if you’re someone who likes their luggage to actually work for them, NOBL's the one you’ll want

And when it comes to price, NOBL's All-in-One Carry-On is currently 46% off—making it a total steal for everything it offers. Don’t get me wrong, I still like my Away bag, but when it comes to real travel, not just posing for photos, NOBL's what I’m rolling with.
