If you’re like me, you’re always on the hunt to level-up your health. Lately, it seems like everyone is on a gut health kick. We are starting to learn more and more how your gut and microbiome plays an important role in not only your digestion, but also your brain health, immune system and even hormones. Essentially, we know that healing your gut is one of the top ways to improve your holistic health. I’ve been hearing the probiotics spiel for a while now and even enjoy a kombucha here and there.
Recently, however, I started hearing about colostrum for gut health. To be candid - I had never heard of colostrum before TikTok. I learned that colostrum is the first nutrition all mammals receive in life, and that it could completely replace a probiotic for your gut health! So, I decided to focus on my regular probiotic and ARMRA.
When diving into the differences between probiotics and ARMRA, I was transported back to my high school biology class. A probiotic is plant-based and scientifically formulated and intended to improve your microbiome.
ARMRA is bovine colostrum, a single superfood ingredient that is a rich source of hundreds of bioactive nutrients that rebuild our immune system and gut.
ARMRA Colostrum contains milk oligosaccharides (a whole-food prebiotic that only feeds the good bacteria in your gut), but also has other functional nutrients, such as antibodies, trace minerals, peptides, antioxidants, and more that restore your bodies’ immune barriers.
After ample research, and trialing them both, here’s what I learned:
If you want to get a handle on your bloating & improve your gut health… ARMRA
Anytime I had any type of digestive distress, probiotics were always touted as my answer. Truth be told, I never noticed much of a difference. When I started reading up on prebiotics and probiotics, I really thought it was going to be an easy win for. Boy was I wrong!
Little did I know, probiotics and prebiotics only address the microbiome. But the microbiome is just 1 part of the 4-part gut wall system. And it takes more than bacteria to heal your gut. ARMRA, however, has bioactives that actually repair the entire gut wall architecture.
The prebiotics in ARMRA can only be found in colostrum and are called milk oligosaccharides that only feed the good bacteria in your gut to create a healthy microbiome. More than that though, it has a host of growth factors, antibodies, and immune nutrients to fortify your defenses in the gut too, and prevent digestive complaints like bloating.
I was shocked at what a difference I experienced in my own gut when trialing between the two products. I noticed a dramatic change in my food tolerances in just the first week with ARMRA’s colostrum! Hands down, this product works wonders.
If you want a bulletproof immune system… ARMRA
After digging in, I learned that the mucosal barriers line the inside of your body and prevent toxins, allergens, and bacteria/viruses from getting into your bloodstream. This barrier houses 80% of your body’s immune system. ARMRA’s colostrum is so effective because it works to proactively rebuild and strengthen this barrier.
Probiotics works to support a healthy microbiome, which is also important for immune health, but just a portion of the barrier. I even learned that there are research studies showing that bovine colostrum is 3X more effective than the flu vaccine at preventing the flu!
If you want to avoid wrinkles & restore that radiant glow in your skin… ARMRA
Some of those barriers that ARMRA works to restore are your skin and gut barriers. Disruption in our skin and gut barriers leads to free radical injury and inflammation, which we see as wrinkles, dullness, acne and age-related changes. ARMRA has nourishing minerals, antioxidants, regenerative peptides and growth factors that strengthen your skin and internal barriers to protect against this environmental damage and combat inflammation. That's nothing compared to what ARMRA can do!
If you want a dairy-free/vegan option… Probiotics
Colostrum is a vegetarian, dairy product. ARMRA has a unique, low-temperature technology that allows it to mimic a raw dairy superfood, and also remove casein, so most people that don’t do well with dairy seem to do just fine with ARMRA. However, most probiotics are vegan. If that’s your prerogative or you have a sensitive dairy allergy, check our your local drug store to find one that's right for you.
If you want the most convenient… It’s a tie.
One of the things I love about ARMRA is that it comes as a powder in single serving packets. For me, I’m always on the go, so having something that I can throw in my bag and add to my water bottle or pour directly into my mouth without water is a huge deal. They say they do theirs in a powder form because it’s good for the powder to directly contact your oral microbiome.
A probiotic is a capsule you take every day that's simple and easy to incorporate in a daily routine. These are both no sweat to use, so I give them a tie.
My Overall Winner… ARMRA
I’m not going to lie, I really had no idea what colostrum was before this, and now just wish I knew sooner. The benefits and results really outshine probiotics! Not only was ARMRA developed by a double board-certified neurologist, but their proprietary, cold-chain technology actually works to protect all these living nutrients in their potent form, and I could tell something was different when I tried it.
I noticed a pretty quick and meaningful change in my gut health and bloating using the product.
It’s like having a SWAT team in there keeping me strong from the inside out. I’m definitely sticking with it.
