I Didn’t Think An Electric Toothbrush or Water Flosser Could Be Convenient For Travel – Here’s What Happened When I Tried quip

I have a good friend who has raved about her quip toothbrush for years but I was surprised to learn that she even brings it along with her on business trips. Now, I pride myself on my dental hygiene but to me, the ideal travel toothbrush are those individually packaged ones at certain WeWorks that already have toothpaste in the bristles somehow.

The thought of packing an electric toothbrush seemed absurd to me but my friend swore up and down that the quip is super convenient to travel with and miles more effective than a drugstore toothbrush.

I was still skeptical but I was swayed by how pretty they are and all the great reviews I read so I thought I’d test quip out on my trip down to my in-laws’ house in Florida.

quip is compact and ready to travel

I got the quip electric toothbrush and also decided to try the rechargeable water flosser because I love a good bundle deal with the Feel-Good Water Floss Set. I actually have a water flosser already - a Waterpik - but not only is it way too big to pack on a trip, I can barely make space for it on my bathroom counter. Plus, I liked that quip’s water flosser is cordless so I don’t feel tethered to the counter.

When I got out my carry-on to pack, I was surprised how little space they took up. The quip toothbrush is basically the same size as a regular toothbrush since there’s no bulky motor or charging station (the handle houses a AAA battery that lasts 3 months). It comes with a super handy travel cover that doubles as a mirror mount.

The water flosser has a small tank that carries enough for a full clean and is about the size of your traditional electric toothbrush. Together, they barely made a dent in my carry-on.

Amazingly clean teeth from gentle sonic vibrations

Now, let’s be honest - even though the quip toothbrush and water flosser are much more portable than your traditional electric toothbrush and water flosser with a giant tank, they still take up a little more room than a regular toothbrush and a spool of dental floss. So I wanted to see just how much better of a job these products did.

When I finished brushing my teeth with my quip electric toothbrush, I was pleasantly surprised at how squeaky clean my teeth felt. Those rubbery bristles and gentle sonic vibrations really do the trick. You know that slippery feeling you get after getting a dental cleaning at the dentist’s office? That’s how my teeth felt after using my quip.

To me, that’s worth the little bit of extra space it takes up in my luggage compared to a $1.99 drugstore toothbrush. Plus, when it’s time to replace the bristles (quip recommends every 3 months), there is an easy convenient auto-ship and it’s just $7 for a new brush head.

Healthier teeth and gums even when you’re away from home

The water flosser was equally impressive. The magnetic tip rotates 360º so that you can reach all the corners of your mouth. There are two pressure modes and two water flow settings. Despite its small size, the water tank lasts a full minute of flossing (so no refills necessary mid-floss unless you’re an extra-long flosser). The flosser is rechargeable though even with daily use, a full charge will last 8 weeks.

For the extra squeaky clean feeling and easy water flossing, I’m happy to give up a few extra inches of luggage space. If you pride yourself on your dental hygiene like I do but balk at the thought of packing a giant electric toothbrush and water flosser, take a look at quip.

quip gets the seal of approval from me, not only is quip great for travel but it makes getting whiter, healthier teeth easier than ever!
