I Bought 4 Gifts for My Preschooler Last Christmas – This Is the Only One She Still Loves

Last year, I thought I nailed the 4 presents I bought for my oldest: legos, a play kitchen, a ball pit, and a bike! The only Christmas present she still loves? Her Guardian Bike ($249). 🚲

And to think I almost didn’t buy the one gift she still plays with every day because I thought she was too young for two-wheels! Guardian Bikes proved that age is just a number when it comes to cycling. My daughter not only learned to ride in just 1 day but also gained a major boost in confidence. Tailored specifically for kids, the bikes are designed to be light and exceptionally safe with a dual-wheel braking system!

Other gifts simply didn’t compare, and brought along problems that her Guardian Bike, well, just didn’t!..... Let me tell you why Guardian Bikes was the clear winner last Christmas:

1. It’s easy to get a hang of (she was riding in 1 day!)

Guardian Bikes prides itself on being easy to learn and easy to use. It only took my daughter 1 DAY (yes 1 day!) to learn to ride. They understand that kids’ bodies aren’t just small: their proportions are too. Each Guardian Bike is lightweight enough for kids as young as two to maneuver and is designed with a child’s anatomy in mind. When everything from the handlebar distance to the seat width feels made for kids, teaching one to ride is a breeze.

Lego sets on the other hand had lots of directions that were hard to follow on even the 4+ sets, and she was frustrated trying to figure out how all the tiny pieces fit together. We ended up storing the sets for a few years down the road. 🤞

2. Assembly is a piece of cake

We dedicated about an hour to setting up my daughter’s Guardian Bike on Christmas Eve last year, but to our surprise, it came out of the box almost fully assembled! All it took was a quick video courtesy of Guardian, a wrench (included), a bow slapped on the handlebars (not included), and about five minutes. Voilà—the Christmas morning of childhood dreams. 🎄

Speaking of assembly…don’t even get me started on their Play Kitchen! I will admit that my kids do get a lot of use out of it, but if I could get back the hours upon hours I spent putting it together, I’d have more time to cook actual meals in my real kitchen. 😂

3. It's Incredibly Safe

My daughter’s bike has helped us avoid close calls thanks to Guardian’s SureStop® Brake System. This single-lever brake helps her stop faster and with more control when she’s cruising down our neighborhood hills.

And since braking only requires one hand, I can think of at least one occasion where she would have been thrown over her handlebars with a less user-friendly bike braking system!

In regards to safety, this is a far cry from the ball pit we got them (one of my biggest Christmas regrets of all time). My kids had a lot of fun devising new and increasingly dangerous ways to throw their little bodies into the glorified kiddie pool filled with plastic balls. We also had a few very close calls with jumps that landed outside of the “safe zone.”

Give the Gift of a Lifetime of Cycling Love

Now, this is parent-dependent, but having a new mini cycling partner to take on rides for the last year was truly the cherry on top of a great Christmas present. 🎁

If you’re on the hunt for a present that’s safe, well-designed for kiddos, and a true investment in the next few years, you need a Guardian Bike.
