Here’s How I’m Building My Fall-Ready Work Wardrobe As a Busy Executive

This summer felt like the first time in a long time that conferences, summits, and business gatherings came back in full force. And while I loved jetting across the country to see colleagues and clients in some of my favorite cities, I did not love how much thought and effort went into shopping and packing for the trip.

At a conference last week in Chicago, I privately confided in a (fabulously dressed) senior executive about my desire to look exceptional without the added effort, and asked how she always managed to look so put together.

Instead of answering, she opened her phone and clicked on a platform called Armoire: a woman-owned, women-led business dedicated to helping members (like me!) to look their best for absolutely every occasion.

A cost conscious way to build an Autumn wardrobe

When I got back to my hotel that evening, I decided to poke around on their website. Not only does Armoire have a selection of over 75,000 designer clothes at the ready, but when you consider the cost of each individual item they offer, it’s incredibly affordable.

The lowest tier was a 4-item plan for $89/month, but since I was looking to build a fall wardrobe mostly from scratch, I knew I needed something a little more robust. I excitedly clicked away to join the 7-Item Membership Plan for $129/month, or $89 my first month.

And thank goodness Armoire understood I don’t have time to sift through 75,000 items just to decide what to wear! After signing up, I was whisked into a style quiz, which accurately identified my style as professional, colorful, and feminine glam with a bit of edge.

Versatility and style at my fingertips

I wanted the clothes to say: “she’s the coolest executive and she demonstrates an inviting, unique perspective: let’s work together.” And Armoire really understood the assignment.

With Armoire’s suggestions, I chose my first seven items: an adorable Sachin & Babi skirt and top, perfect for a fundraiser I am hosting in a few weeks; pants by the same designer that scream, “she’s killing it;” a Sarah Alexandra button up that’s quietly luxurious, and gives off structured and organized; a bright green single-button, outfit-defining blazer; a classic, clean-cut dress by Rag & Bone; and a cowl neck silk tank, perfect for any pair of dress pants.

Needless to say, shipping was expedient, and the fit of the clothes: perfection. They really nailed it!

So much time saved packing and planning

My business is still generating name recognition, so raising awareness for who I am and what I can do still rides on a solid first impression. Wearing the right clothes and styling my look the right way is at the top of my priority list.

As I’ve started assessing my fall work travel, and critical upcoming investor pitches, I am no longer nagged by the voice in my head considering what I will wear. Armoire’s service takes all the guesswork out of styling my professional wardrobe and packing for business trips—they even handle the dry cleaning!

And if you ever find yourself in need of more clothes for a work trip that’s been unexpectedly extended, don’t worry: Armoire will ship to anywhere you are, even a hotel room.

Armoire literally has me covered this Autumn

I’ve already started putting together my next order, complete with multiple items from one of my favorite designers, Joie, and a cute Yumi Kim dress for when I can finally take time for a quick date night! Not having to worry as much about how I look has left me feeling super energized for the days ahead—even those last minute excursions!

And when the seasons change again, as they always do, I know Armoire will waste no time styling me in several winter-ready options, too. ❄️
