Fabletics vs. Abercrombie vs. Levi’s: The Denim I Actually Reach For Now

I didn’t think I needed new jeans… until I realized I was constantly avoiding the ones I already owned. You know the feeling - too stiff, too tight by midday, or that awkward break-in period where you’re just uncomfortable all day. I’ve worn denim from Abercrombie & Fitch and Levi’s for years, so I didn’t expect to be swayed. But after trying Fabletics denim, I kind of get the hype - and now I have thoughts.

If you’re debating where to get your next pair, here’s how it played out for me.

If You Want Jeans That Feel Comfortable From Day One… Fabletics Wins

This is the category that mattered most to me. I don’t have the patience to “break in” denim anymore.

With Abercrombie and Levi’s, I always felt like I had to earn comfort. They looked great, but the first few wears? Not it. Stiff, structured, and very aware that I was wearing jeans.

Fabletics denim was the opposite. Soft, flexible, and actually comfortable the first time I put them on. Not jeggings - real denim - but somehow already broken-in. I’ve worn them running around the city all day and never once thought about changing.

Winner: Fabletics. No contest.

If You Care About Price (Without Sacrificing Quality)… Fabletics Wins Again

Let’s be honest - denim can get expensive fast. Abercrombie and Levi’s both sit at that higher price point, especially for trend-forward styles. And while the quality is there, it can feel like a commitment every time you check out.

Fabletics surprised me here. The quality feels premium, but the price is way more approachable - especially if you get $29 jeans when you sign up as a New VIP. That made it really easy to try multiple styles without overthinking it.

For me, it felt like getting that elevated denim look without the usual price tag stress.

Winner: Fabletics.

If You Want More Style Options and Inclusive Fits…It’s a Tie

I used to think Abercrombie had the edge here - and they still do have really great, polished cuts. Levi’s leans more classic, which I love, but can feel a bit limited if you’re trying to switch things up.

Fabletics surprised me, though. They do offer a solid range high-rise skinny, straight, wide-leg, baggy fits, and some fun washes like light and dark indigo, black, even leopard. It definitely gives you room to experiment.

That said, since their denim line is still newer, the overall selection isn’t quite as built out yet as more established brands.

Where Fabletics really stands out is inclusive sizing and fit - it feels like they’re designing for real bodies, which makes a difference.

So while Fabletics brings a fresh, inclusive approach, the others still hold their own in terms of depth and variety.

If You Want Jeans That Actually Hold Up Over Time… Fabletics Wins

One thing I didn’t expect was how well Fabletics denim holds up.

I’ve washed mine multiple times now, and they’ve kept their shape, softness, and color. No weird stretching out, no stiffness coming back.

With some of my older Abercrombie and Levi’s pairs, I noticed they either lost shape or took forever to feel comfortable again after washing.

Fabletics somehow balances durability with that soft, lived-in feel-which, honestly, is the dream.

Winner: Fabletics.

The Ultimate Winner… Fabletics

I didn’t go into this expecting to switch up my denim loyalty - but here we are.

For me, it came down to this: I want jeans I actually want to wear. Not ones I tolerate because they look good. Fabletics nailed that balance of comfort, style, and price in a way that just fits my everyday life better.

If you’re someone who:

  • Is tired of stiff, uncomfortable jeans
  • Wants more variety without overspending
  • Needs denim that works for real life (not just standing still photos)

…then yeah, I’d say it’s worth trying.

I still appreciate my Abercrombie and Levi’s pairs, but lately? I keep reaching for Fabletics - and I don’t think that’s changing anytime soon.
