As a general rule, I don’t buy into hype. Typically, if I encounter more than your average buzz around a product, I’m already convinced it’s not going to work for me.
Recently, I couldn’t seem to get away from the Our Place Always Pan. No matter where I scrolled, I saw ads and influencers gushing about it all over Instagram and TikTok—I even saw a few empty Our Place boxes on the street corner on recycling day. Seriously, that pan was everywhere.
Coincidentally, my long-time favorite nonstick pan (a wedding gift) finally cracked about a month ago. I asked some friends for replacement suggestions, and you guessed it: they all use the Always Pan, too. At that point, I felt like I had no choice but to succumb to the influence and give it a try.
Here’s what I discovered when I did:
It’s the most versatile tool in my kitchen
As a family of five, we love to eat. I’m always experimenting with new recipes and tweaking old favorites to suit changing tastes (mom life) and grocery store availability (inflation life).
With the 10-in-1 Always Pan, I’m able to do everything my old pan could, and to my surprise, a whole lot more. I can sear, steam, fry, boil, saute, bake, braise, and strain all types of meals using only this 10.5-inch pan. Plus, I can even serve directly from the pan and store the leftovers in it overnight. I would have needed at least four pots and pans to do that before.
On top of what this pan can do with my family’s long-time favorites, this pan’s versatility is encouraging me to branch out. My family is especially fond of skillet meals like chicken biscuit, and breakfast scrambles like sweet potatoes and apple sausage. It’s deep enough to roast a chicken, shallow enough to flip an egg, and oven safe up to 450 degrees—there’s a whole lot of “room” for experimentation in the Always Pan.
It’s nonstick and toxin-free
If you’ve seen the ads, you already know the Always Pan is a great looking piece of cookware. But if you’re a seasoned chef or just someone who loves to cook, you also know that nonstick cookware is rarely attractive. I don’t think anyone would willingly hang a warped nonstick omelet pan above their stove.
Beautiful as it is, the Always Pan isn’t form over function, either. The ceramic coating is made without potentially toxic materials like PFAS (including PTFEs and PFOAs), lead, and cadmium, and features Thermakind™—Our Place’s most advanced, 50% longer lasting ceramic nonstick coating.
My favorite part? This pan is an absolute breeze to clean. I don’t think I’ve ever needed to scrub it at all, even after cooking with cheese or eggs.
It’s worth the price tag
Even though I had no choice but to replace my broken pan, I was not about to get suckered into overpriced cookware, either. When I saw that the Always Pan costs $150, I figured I’d be returning it before the end of the week.
But after trying and falling in love with the Always Pan, I think it’s a seriously great value. You’d be hard pressed to find a traditional pan (or 10) that does as much as this 10.5’’ pan can do. And if you took the time to add the individual costs of all of those pans together, the price would definitely be higher than $150.
Our Place also offers free shipping, free returns, and a 100 day trial, and a one year warranty if you aren’t totally convinced. Plus, every Always Pan comes with a modular, steam-release lid, a nesting beechwood spatula, and a brand-spanking new steamer basket.
I’m totally an Always Pan convert
I’m so glad I let down my guard and gave this pan an honest shot. I’ve never owned a pan quite this useful before, and I can’t wait to see what the holiday season brings with a sous chef like the Always Pan.
If you’re in the market for new nonstick cookware, take it from me: the hype is real.
