I live to travel, and trying the best local foods is my number one reason for jetting off. And when I’m traveling to a new destination, I'm always looking to save as much as possible to spend on the food itself!
I started using travel apps a while back but they're always hit or miss. So when I heard that the Hopper app is 95% accurate at predicting future travel prices, I was pretty skeptical. But I figured there was no harm in trying it out, especially if it turned out to be true–which it did!
Book Flights, Hotels, and Cars Now or Later
When you first launch the app, you’ll be taken to the dashboard. Here, you’ll begin your search, be it Hotels, Flights, Rental Cars, or even vacation Homes. You’ll start by selecting your route or destination, and then your desired dates. The app will then show you the cheapest possible rates, and you can filter the results based on price and location.
Here is where the price prediction comes in. If the app determines that your results are already at their lowest point, you’ll be prompted to “Book Now,” but if it predicts that prices will be lower, you’ll see an option to “Watch the Trip.”
Hopper will monitor prices 24/7 and send you a notification when it's time to book a great deal. It’ll also ping you if the prices are starting to go up so you can decide if you want to keep waiting or lock your deal in.
Exclusive deals you won’t find anywhere else
The Hopper app has an algorithm that’s in charge of making the predictions but, on top of that, it partners with top hotels and airlines to bring users exclusive deals that you won't find anywhere else.
Hopper features over two million properties across the world and offers a mobile booking experience that is really top-notch. Once I decided to book my trip, all I had to do was follow the “Book Now” prompt and I was able to schedule everything right through the app.
Does it really save you money?
I have to admit the answer here is yes! I’ve been using Hopper for a while now and have saved an average of $65 per trip. It may not seem like a lot but it really adds up when you travel frequently. In addition to the exclusive deals and discounts, Hopper frequently gives users flash deals and vouchers that make the price even cheaper.
As for accuracy, I’m not a math genius or anything but, I’ve been disappointed by apps in the past that claim to have the best deals, but I end up finding better prices somewhere else. That hasn’t been the case with Hopper. I’ve gotten the best deals I can find, every time.
The Verdict
Overall, I have to say I’m no longer a Hopper skeptic, but a Hopper fan! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to save money while traveling because you can trust that you’re getting the best possible prices and deals.
