BURST Kids vs. Quip Kids: The Ultimate Kids Brush Showdown

After a less than stellar dental visit last year, I've been trying to improve my daughter's brushing habits and her overall oral health - so I decided to embark upon a hunt for an electric toothbrush for her. I wanted one that was effective, sturdy (so she couldn’t break it every other day!), and offered a lot of value (you know, bang for your buck).

I decided to let her give both BURST kids and Quip Kids a shot to see which one would be her new toothbrush for life. She gave them both a fair trial, but let me tell you, there was a clear winner. I’ll break down the one my daughter LOVED and her entire experience with both.

If you want the overall best clean… BURST Kids.

Brushing power is where BURST Kids blows Quip Kids out of the water. I learned that BURST brushes use sonic technology that results in 31,000 vibrations per minute - which is 550 per second. That’s a lot!

I also love how with BURST, since the toothbrush has a gap between the handle and head, the vibrations actually run through the head to the bristles to deliver an incredible but gentle clean to my daughter’s teeth. This definitely is not the case with Quip, as I found out.

While I still feel like my daughter got a sufficient clean with her Quip brush, without the gap, it felt like a lot of the vibrations were wasted in the handle (her hand was kind of numb after which was odd). Also, while Quip uses similar sonic technology as BURST, it only features half the power. Win for BURST Kids!

If you want to save a few dollars.. Quip Kids.

Probably the one thing that Quip Kids has over BURST Kids is that it’s a few dollars less expensive. It’s $26.99 whereas BURST Kids is $39.99. With that said, both my daughter and I found BURST to offer over 10x the value of Quip, so it is well worth the price.

When I checked out my daughter’s Quip brush, it still felt like a manual toothbrush – it’s pretty lightweight. I also noticed my daughter scrubbing with it as she used to with her manual brush, which wasn’t great. BURST was the opposite – the 31,000 sonic vibrations per minute did the job without any doubt or manual scrubbing!

If you want a brush that’s easy and hassle-free to use… BURST Kids.

Unfortunately, after a few days of trying Quip Kids, my daughter wanted to go back to using her old manual brush because the power button was too hard to press down and the brush kept slipping out of her hand because it felt like a sleek plastic.

It was really frustrating and deterred her from wanting to brush her teeth. She was thrilled to be able to operate the BURST toothbrush, navigating between its two vibration settings on her own with ease. The BURST brush also comes in a silicone base which allows for such easy gripping (and less drops on the ground)!

I’m also a really big fan of how incredible BURST’s lifetime guarantee is. Do you really think I would drop $40 on a toothbrush for my kid without having a backup plan? The answer is no way – I can rely on BURST's lifetime guarantee with peace of mind. If anything ever goes wrong, BURST has me covered with a free replacement.

The Ultimate Winner... BURST Kids.

At the end of the day, it wasn’t even much of a competition for my daughter. She loved her BURST and plans on using it for life! She gave her Quip a fair shot, but at the end of the day, her experience with BURST finally made her excited about brushing her teeth.

Since starting up with BURST, I can confidently say her dentist is proud of the progress she has been making and her overall oral health is improving day by day.
